Impulse Drive

ImpulseDrive is an automated trading system that combines six independent strategies in a single MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor.

The EA features individual money management for each strategy, portfolio risk controls, an economic news filter, and advanced trade execution protection.

Each strategy can be enabled or disabled independently.

Six Trading Strategies

S01 — Short Stop Loss Strategy

An independent trading algorithm with dynamic position sizing. Its relatively short Stop Loss allows larger trading volumes while maintaining a defined risk structure.

Default position sizing: 0.10 lot per $1,000 of account balance.

S02 — Independent Trading Strategy

Uses its own trading signals and pending order management system. Supports individual money management, Stop Loss, Take Profit, and integrated execution protection.

S03 — Additional Trading Algorithm

Operates independently using its own trading conditions, entry parameters, and position management rules.

S04 — Independent Signal Module

Adds another trading algorithm to the portfolio, with individual settings and integration into the overall risk management system.

S05 — XAUUSD Trading Strategy

Includes optional Break-Even and Trailing Stop functionality. Both features can be configured independently and are disabled by default.

S06 — Channel-Based Strategy

Supports entry on price touch or candle close, alternative profit targets, and configurable trading sessions.

S06 is disabled by default and can be activated after testing its behavior under the user's broker conditions.

Dynamic Money Management

ImpulseDrive provides individual money management for all six strategies.

By default, DYNAMIC_BALANCE is enabled:

• S01 — 0.10 lot per $1,000 of account balance.

• S02–S06 — 0.01 lot per $1,000 of account balance.

Trading volume automatically adjusts as the account balance changes. Alternative modes include fixed lot sizing and risk-based calculations.

For S02–S04, the EA can use the broker's minimum permitted lot when the calculated volume falls below the minimum, subject to mandatory trading restrictions.

Portfolio Risk Manager

An optional system designed to monitor and control combined exposure across all active strategies.

Key features include:

• Aggregate risk and equity drawdown limits.

• Maximum open positions and pending orders.

• Total exposure limits.

• Free margin and margin level monitoring.

• Spread filtering.

• Trading pauses triggered by risk conditions.

Portfolio Risk Manager can block new trades when configured limits are reached.

Economic Calendar and Execution Protection

The built-in News Manager can restrict new trade entries around significant economic events.

Important: The News Manager is disabled in the default testing configuration. When attaching ImpulseDrive to a live trading chart, users are strongly advised to enable the News Manager and configure the appropriate news filtering parameters.

The execution system also checks trading sessions, available margin, permitted volumes, and broker restrictions.

Request Guard helps prevent duplicate orders and excessive repeated trade requests following execution failures.

Information Dashboard

The on-chart dashboard displays:

• Account Equity and daily profit/loss.

• Individual strategy status.

• Open position and pending order volumes.

• Money Manager, Portfolio Risk, and News Manager status.

• Execution diagnostics and reasons for blocked trades.

Broker and Trading Account Requirements

For optimal performance, ImpulseDrive requires a trading account with low spreads, fast order execution, and minimal slippage.

ECN/RAW accounts with competitive trading conditions are strongly recommended.

High spreads, execution delays, and excessive slippage may significantly affect trading results, particularly for strategies using short Stop Loss distances.

Recommended specifications:

• Platform: MetaTrader 5.

• Account type: Hedging.

• Primary instrument: XAUUSD.

• Recommended chart timeframe: M15.

• Low spreads and fast execution.

• Recommended starting deposit: $1,000 or more.

For smaller deposits, we recommend disabling Strategies S05 and S06, while keeping S01–S04 enabled with appropriate money management settings.

Trading with smaller balances is possible but involves increased risk and depends on broker requirements.

Backtesting and Risk Disclosure

ImpulseDrive can be tested using historical tick data in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester.

Results depend on broker conditions, spreads, commissions, execution quality, enabled strategies, and money management settings.

Historical profitability does not guarantee future performance. Dynamic lot scaling can significantly increase both potential returns and drawdowns.

Testing on a demo account is recommended before using real funds.
