RangeAU — Multi-Engine Range Structure EA for XAUUSD (MT4 / MT5)
RangeAU is a structure-based Expert Advisor for gold. It reads the market the way discretionary traders do, in terms of ranges, edges, midpoints and breakouts, and turns that reading into five independent, rule-based trading engines. Each engine runs on its own magic number, with its own risk settings and its own daily trade limit, so you can run one, several, or all of them side by side.
The five engines
Core Session Engine: one disciplined trade per day built on the session structure of gold. It has a real broker-side stop, an R-multiple target, break-even, and volatility-adjusted trailing. A higher-timeframe filter keeps it on the dominant side of the market. It closes everything before the rollover, so nothing is held overnight.
Module 1, Breakout Fade: targets false moves. When price breaks out of a structure and fails, or stretches too far, this engine trades the return toward the structure's midpoint or its volume-weighted mean. You can choose between three trigger logics.
Module 2, Detected Range Breakout: automatically detects consolidation ranges on your trading timeframe, using objective criteria for width, number of touches, and how flat the price action is. It trades only confirmed breakouts and skips moves that have already run too far.
Module 3, Midpoint Logic: the middle of a range is where the market decides. This engine trades either a rejection at the midpoint (back toward the edge it came from) or acceptance through it (toward the opposite edge), and it can pick between the two automatically.
Module 4, Edge Return: trades rejections at the top or bottom of a range, and retests of a broken edge as continuation. Targets are either the midpoint or the opposite edge.
Modules 1, 3 and 4 can work on the session structure, on the automatically detected range, or on whichever is active.
Risk management
Every trade is sent with a real stop loss attached at the broker; there are no hidden stops. You can size by fixed lot or by risk percentage of equity, with the risk calculated on the actual stop distance. There is a daily loss cap as a percentage of balance, a maximum lot cap, a spread filter and slippage control. The EA never uses grids, martingale, averaging down or recovery logic. Minimum and maximum stop sizes are normalised to volatility, so the EA adapts to gold's changing conditions without manual retuning.
Plug and play
Broker time is detected automatically, so there is no GMT offset to enter, and daylight saving changes are handled. Every engine is fully isolated by its own magic number, so RangeAU can run next to other EAs on the same account without interference. It works on hedging and netting accounts. A single chart is all you need: attach it to XAUUSD, M15 recommended.
Dashboard
A full on-chart dashboard shows engine status, today's levels and structure, open positions per engine, daily P/L, and statistics. Today's key levels are drawn directly on the chart.
