Setting advice: Monday trading on US30
  • According to many cyclical analysis theories (such as ICT or Market Profile), Monday (and partially Tuesday) is when the market establishes the highs and lows for the week.
  • Monday is often a day of “positioning” with reduced volumes. The price tends to fluctuate without a clear direction (trading range) because the index has to reabsorb everything that happened over the weekend (geopolitical news, Sunday statements).
  • Monday is used to “close the gap” or to test the remaining uncovered liquidity, making the movement very volatile and directionless.
Based on my backtests, trading on Mondays results in an increase in profit of about 10%, but with a higher drawdown and an increase in losing trades.
Traders should therefore consider whether to activate Mondays in their settings, based on their trading style and the volatility that can be expected on Mondays due to events that occurred over the weekend that could make the market very nervous

Why is this setting necessary? 

The global transition to Daylight Saving Time (DST) is not synchronized. For example, the United

States typically changes its clocks two to three weeks before Europe.

Furthermore, different brokers follow different server time rules:

• Broker A may align its server clock with the New York transition (US DST).

• Broker B may align its server clock with the London/Cyprus transition (EU DST).

• Broker C (especially in Australia or Asia) may follow a completely different internal logic or no DST at all.

Ensure the configured hour always matches the server time at the exact moment of the New York open.

This is the settings file I use when price action is very indecisive at the market open. To give trades a bit more room, I have slightly increased the stop loss to 370 instead of 330. Please test it with your broker on a demo account before using it on a live account. Trade on Monday it is up to your trading style, as already wrote in the specific comment.
