Can a trader be successful by only using either technical analysis or fundamental analysis?

I have just read a book saying that a professional trader should know and use both types of analysis. Is there any successful trader here utilizing only technical analysis ? or fundamental analysis? Do you have any reason for applying only one type of analysis to your trading
