Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 8 November 2017

US and European equity indices finished the day largely lower yesterday, dragged down by financials as the US Treasury curve continued to flatten. The main focus fell on US tax reforms after reports that the US Senate is considering a 1-year corporate tax cut delay which weighed on USD. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33298&viewfull=1#post33298 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 7 November 2017

US numbers ended the week on a disappointing note, as payrolls and wage growth missed their forecasts. After a decline in September, a result of the hurricanes which battered the US, nonfarm payrolls rebounded sharply with a reading of 261 thousand. This was a respectable number, but still fell short of the forecast of 312 thousand. Wage growth also disappointed, slowing to 0.0%, short of the estimate of 0.2%. This marked the first time in 2017 that wage growth did not increase, underlining persistent weak inflation. Although Fed Chair Yellen and other Fed policymakers have expressed confidence that inflation levels will rise, this is still yet to occur, despite strong growth and a labor market at capacity. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33293&viewfull=1#post33293 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Global equity markets closed marginally higher, led by the NASDAQ, DAX, and Nikkei while oil extended an advance above $55 a barrel. JPY fell to the weakest level since March (vs. the USD) after Bank of Japan Governor Kuroda said it is crucial for inflation to exceed the 2% target, signaling there is little appetite for tapering stimulus. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33292&viewfull=1#post33292 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Banks

By far the biggest participants are the Banks and other financial institutions. They earn profits by buying and selling currencies from each other and to each other. They have strong credit relationships with each other and they make up the "interbank" market . Between them they make up the majority of commercial turnover as well as a high percentage of speculative day trading volume.
Roughly 2/3 of all FX transactions involve banks dealing directly with each other.
In addition, due to their size, client base and their large volumes of trade, the Banks have access to important, up to date information and are able to assess direction and size of capital and order flows very quickly.
Banks and Financial Institutions have large Research Departments that provide fundamental and technical analysis to their Clients and is this information that impacts the market.
Order Flow measures the volume of currency transactions initiated by Buyers or Sellers
When most trades are initiated by foreign currency Buyers the Foreign Currency appreciates
When most trades are initiated by Foreign Currency Sellers the Foreign Currency depreciates.

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 3 November 2017

Global equity markets were mixed with US equities lower but Asian markets opening slightly stronger today. The GOP House tax cut plan was released yesterday, but the lack of meaningful reform and uncertainty on approval drove US equities, UST yields and the USD lower. As expected, Jerome Powell was officially nominated as the new Fed Chair, with little market reaction. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33272&viewfull=1#post33272 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

What is the Foreign Exchange Rate?

A foreign exchange rate is the parity between 2 currencies, ie. the amount of one currency that is needed to sell (or buy) in order to buy (or sell) one unit of the other currency. There are two ways to express this - the most common and most international universal quotes the amount of any currency that corresponds to one US Dollar. So for example if we see USD/CHF 0.96359 this means that one dollar can be exchanged for 0.96359 Swiss Franc.
When it comes to buying goods or services or to invest in other Countries, Companies and Individuals may well need to buy the currency of the country in which they are doing business. As a rule of thumb, Exporters prefer to be paid in either their own Country's currency or in USD as this is a currency known and accepted all over the World. Eg. When the French buy Oil from Russia they pay in US Dollars as opposed to the Euro or even the Russian rouble, even though the USA is not involved in the transaction.
The market itself is actually a network of Traders based all over the World, connected by telephone lines and computers, there are no Central Headquarters.

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 2 November 2017

Most markets traded sideways yesterday with global equity markets mixed after a relatively uneventful FOMC meeting was overshadowed by reports regarding the next Fed Chair. In FX, the USD declined alongside UST yields on reports that President Trump is expected to appoint Governor Jerome Powell as the new Fed Chair. The Fed Chair decision should be formalised today, alongside the House’s tax plan release which was delayed yesterday. Powell is perceived as a Fed Chair close to the status quo, since his recent speeches and policy decisions have been fairly similar to Chair Janet Yellen’s. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33263&viewfull=1#post33263 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

The changing of money and helping people to change money and charging people a fee for doing this has its roots in the ancient times, through the medieval ages and to post war times when its Organisation became more structured.
It is now the largest market in the world.
Its huge trading volumes represent the largest asset class in the World, leading to high liquidity.
It is estimated (per the Bank for International Settlements) that daily turnover operates around the $4 trillion levels.

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 1 November 2017

The markets were seen trading subdued yesterday. The Bank of Japan held its monetary policy steady, and in the Eurozone, flash inflation estimates showed that consumer prices rose 1.4% on the headline and 0.9% on the core. This was weaker than the estimates. However, flash GDP showed a 0.6% increase for the third quarter, while the second quarter GDP was revised higher to 0.7%. In Canada, the monthly GDP data posted a 0.1% decline which missed estimates of a 0.1% increase. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33260&viewfull=1#post33260 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 31 October 2017

Global equity markets fluctuated after weaker than expected China PMI data. However, markets were focused on the investigation into alleged Russian interference and collusion in US elections, which returned and hit sentiment driving US equities lower ahead of a busy political week. UST yields declined and the USD lost ground vs. most G10 peers, amid month-end flows. Crude oil held to last week’s gains as markets begin to anticipate an extension of the output cut deal at next month’s OPEC meeting. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33257&viewfull=1#post33257 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 30 October 2017

Global equity markets were driven higher last week by supportive developments in policy and economic data. Most equity markets rose, oil prices surged on expectations for an OPEC production cut extension and European government bonds rallied on a dovish ECB.
USD has opened the week slightly on the back foot against G10 peers whilst EUR has so far been unperturbed by further unrest in Catalonia over the weekend. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33254&viewfull=1#post33254 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

European and US equities were lower on the day yesterday and USD fell overnight versus G10 peers on speculation that Trump might give the relatively dovish Yellen another term as Fed Chair. GBP was the clear outperformer in G10 space after a stronger than expected GDP print whilst CAD weakened as the BoC struck a cautious tone at its meeting. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33247&viewfull=1#post33247 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 25 October 2017

US equity markets finished the day in the green yesterday and the Dow Jones made new all-time highs after earning beats by a number of industrials.
USD strength versus EM currencies was the dominant theme in FX markets with Latin American currencies in particular coming under pressure as US bond yields moved higher. US rates and USD continue to be driven by the question of who should replace Yellen as Fed Chair and according to reports, the relatively hawkish John Taylor came out on top after President Trump asked Senate Republicans for their opinion on the matter. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33241&viewfull=1#post33241 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

US equities closed slightly lower yesterday after a relatively light session in terms of volume and the most notable mover was the Japanese stock market which continued to make gains (Nikkei +1.1%) after the weekend’s election affirmed support for the ruling coalition and “Abenomics”. Asian equity markets are largely higher as of midday local time and FX was generally stable overnight with the exception of NZD which fell by over 1% as PM Ardern outlined plans to give the RBNZ a new unemployment mandate and potentially a currency mandate. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33237&viewfull=1#post33237 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Japan’s ruling coalition secured a two-thirds majority in Sunday’s lower house elections, prompting USDJPY to tick slightly higher at the open and Japanese equities to surge. Barclays Research think that the election result “… strengthens the prospects for: 1) continuity in monetary policy for now, including the reappointment of BoJ Governor Kuroda; and 2) a consumption tax hike in October 2019, but a neutral fiscal policy stance on balance”. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33235&viewfull=1#post33235 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

The History of Forex
In July 1944 delegates from 44 Allied nations gathered in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire to discuss a new International monetary system. The idea was to create a system to facilitate international trade whilst simultaneously protecting the autonomous policy goals of individual nations.
Discussions were largely dominated by the two great superpowers at the time, the USA and Great Britain. Agreement was made for member nations to peg their currencies to the US Dollar and to ensure the rest of the World that its currency was dependable, the US would in turn peg the dollar to gold at a price of $35 an ounce.
The IMF (International Monetary Fund) and the IBRD (now known as the World Bank) were set up as institutions to ensure everyone complied with the new rules. In addition, this was to include the proposal of the new adjustable pegged foreign exchange rate system.
By the 1970s the US gold reserves were so low that the US Treasury didn't have enough gold to cover all the US Dollars that the foreign central banks had in reserve so in 1971 President Nixon closed the gold window, essentially abandoning the system by refusing to exchange US Dollars for gold. This was the end of Bretton Woods.
The Dollar was then allowed to float and fluctuate against other currencies.
Today most currencies are freely floating and the price is determind by the supply and demand of each currency.

Gold is down for a third consecutive day. In the North American session, the spot price for an ounce of gold is $1279.79, down 0.39% on the day. On the release front, the focus was on housing data, and the September numbers were soft. Building Permits slowed to 1.22 million, shy of the estimate of 1.25 million. Housing Starts dropped to 1.13 million, missing the forecast of 1.18 million.
