Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 28 November 2017

Markets were relatively subdued yesterday. Asian equities fell in line with the decline in commodities, with crude oil falling for a second day after reaching two year highs and ahead of OPEC’s meeting in Vienna on Thursday. In FX, JPY reversed its gains after yesterday’s risk rally which was partly fueled by reports (Kyodo News) that Japan detected radio signals suggesting that North Korea is preparing for a missile launch. Meanwhile, the Bloomberg dollar index was little changed as the US tax debate gets underway. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33360&viewfull=1#post33360 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Currency:

The price of one currency in terms of another is called an exchange rate. A foreign exchange rate is the parity between two currencies ie. the amount of one currency needed to sell (or buy) in order to buy (or sell) one unit of the other currency. There are several ways to express such a rate. The most widely recognised one quotes the amount of any currency that corresponds to $1. So for example, when we see USD/EUR at 1.10 it means that one dollar can be exchanged for 1.10 Euro.

It is important to remember that the buying and selling of currency pairs ie. buying one selling the other, and vice versa is important in order that this simple transaction is completed.

There are Major, Minor and Exotic Currencies.

Currency Symbols always have 3 letters, the first 2 are the first 2 of that Country, and the 3rd letter is the first letter of that Country's currency. http://fxpcm.com/ #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Forex Trading Intervals:

A prominent investor once said that Forex investors come in different sizes and shapes – not only in terms of strategies and trading horizons, but also when it comes to their portfolio size, the sophistication of their tactics, and their market insight.

Tactical sophistication is important in Forex trading – but so is the trading interval you choose to implement your trading plan and tactics. Some Forex investors like to trade when the sun sets in Tokyo, while others get their kicks with a cup of coffee before the London market opens. Whatever trading interval you choose, make sure you understand how the trade day works, what weekend trading means, and what the best trading hours are. http://fxpcm.com/

The 3 major Trading sessions in the Forex markets:

Asian Trading Session
The Asian trading session kicks off the first round of currency trading. Business hours in Tokyo start at midnight GMT. Approximately 7.6% of Forex transactions go through Tokyo, meaning that the Asian session is the least active of the three major trading sessions. The most actively traded currency during this session is the Japanese yen.

European Trading Session
The European trading session starts at 8:00 am GMT. London is the main player in the Forex market, with over 32% of all Forex transactions taking place there. The London time zone is considered convenient as it overlaps with the time periods during which economies in both western and eastern hemispheres are active.

U.S. Trading Session
The American session opens with the start of New York business hours at 1:00 pm GMT. With 19% of all Forex transactions going through the Big Apple, New York is second to London in terms of trading volumes.

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 21 November 2017

Global equity markets finished the day generally higher on Monday as did US Treasury yields and USD. Political uncertainty in Germany was a dominant theme in markets and despite EUR retracing some losses in early London trading, it finished the day around -0.5% versus USD and GBP. Asian equities are higher as of midday local time and MSCI’s broadest index of Asian shares (ex. Japan) hit a 10-year high. Meanwhile, FX markets were largely unchanged overnight. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33340&viewfull=1#post33340 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

What is the most favourable Trading Hours?

As the global market for currency exchange, the Forex market features many currency pairs. But the thing is, not all pairs are equal, and some carry more financial weight than others.

Therefore, you really want to focus on currencies that offer higher trading volumes and, thus, more liquidity. Major currencies include the U.S. dollar, British pound, euro, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar and Japanese yen. Consequently, the most suitable Forex trading hours are intervals when the U.S; European and Asian markets are open.

The Overlapping of Trading Times

To see clearly what we are talking about, take a look at our trading time overlap chart below (GMT). The best trading times, in terms of volatility and news items, run from 1:00 p.m. GMT to 4:00 p.m. GMT, and from Midnight GMT to 6:00 a.m. GMT. Note, though, that transactional volume is generally low when Asian and Oceania markets are open. http://fxpcm.com

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 20 November 2017

Most risk markets came under pressure mid last week but had largely recovered by Friday thanks in part to the US House and the Senate Finance Committee approving their respective versions of a tax cut package. EUR has opened this week lower against G10 peers after German coalition talks collapsed over the weekend as a result of the FDP withdrawing from negotiations due to irreconcilable differences on immigration and environmental policy. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33335&viewfull=1#post33335 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

European equity futures gained marginally after Asian equities rebounded after four days of declines. Oil steadied near $55 a barrel and gold eased for a second day. In FX, the USD remained under pressure as US fixed income rallied, with UST yields rallying c.5bp. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33323&viewfull=1#post33323 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

The weakness in risk assets extended into another session, with global equities extending declines in Europe and Asia. In FX, EURUSD rallied above 1.1800 with the fixed income move acting as the initial catalyst and aided further by robust Euro Area data. Meanwhile, the ECB’s conference on central bank communications failed to provide any market-moving headlines. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33320&viewfull=1#post33320 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective 14 November 2017

Equities had a mixed day yesterday with European indices printing losses whilst US markets registered marginal gains. The USD and US Treasury yields were supported by a continuation of Republican tax cut efforts and Asian markets were largely unchanged as of midday local time today. Kevin Brady, House Way and Means committee chairman, said that he is confident that the tax bill will pass in the House according to Bloomberg but he insisted that keeping some of the state and local tax deductions is a priority for the House, in contrast to the Senate proposal. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33317&viewfull=1#post33317 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

Asian equities were mixed, with the Nikkei 225 pulling further away from the 25-year high tested last week whilst Hong Kong stocks were firmer. The USD trimmed an advance that saw it gain against majority of its major counterparts. GBP declined as pressure mounts on UK Prime Minister Theresa May after a raft of political headlines and increasing criticism over Brexit discussions. http://myforexforums.com/showthread.php/1184-Market-Review-%E2%80%93-Fundamental-Perspective?p=33312&viewfull=1#post33312 #pcmbrokers #forex #forecast #analysis #broker #trader #indicators #bonus #mt4 #forextrading #trade #pairs #strategy #traders #forexexchange #daytrader #sydney #london #singapore #dubai #profit #investments #community #money #usd #slr #euro #business #forexsignal #pcm

What is Forex Trading?

Forex Trading is essentially the buying of one currency and the simultaneous selling of another. Therefore when we trade currencies we always see them traded in pairs.
When placing a Trade we are speculating on which currency we believe will be stronger or weaker against the other, with the goal of making a profit from the exchange rate movement.
The currency to the left is called the base currency. The currency to the right is called the quote currency. The quote currency tells us how much it is worth against 1 unit of the base currency.

Why trade FX?

It allows you to benefit from short term profits in the fluctuations in exchange rates
It allows you to protect yourself from losses due to changes in exchange rates
It allows you to buy the foreign currency necessary to buy goods and services from other countries.
Trading FX has relatively low trading costs. You pay a small commission and the bid/ask spread is also added to the cost of trading.

Global Managed Funds:
Large Mutual and Pension Funds invest in Foreign Securities and other foreign financial instruments (further descriptions later). To purchase bonds, stocks, commodities in a Foreign Country the funds have to be exchanged first of all. This can really impact spot prices as the sheer volumes mean that these Companies are constantly re-balancing and adjusting their portfolios and holdings.
Many of these Funds "hedge" their currency exposure to avoid the risks of depreciating currencies.
They also transact large trade positions in order to benefit from interest rate differentials and to administer purely speculative trades.
Central Banks
The Central Banks act on behalf of their respective Governments. Sometimes intervenes in the open market to maintain stability in the FX market or to influence exchange rates of the currency.
Central Banks sent the overnight lending rates.
They also control the money supply by the buying and selling of Government securities.
