I'm Mike Semlitsch, the developer of this indicator.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to test this indicator. Because of it's limitations, MT4 is not able to run a Multi-Pair, Multi-Timeframe indicator in the strategy-tester.

But I can assure that this indicator does what the name promises. It finds the best reversal candle stick pattern: Three-Line-Strike

Doesn't work in Strategy Tester, please can you fix this?

Does this indicator just need to be attached to 1 currency pair diagram？ Do other currencies have alarms when there is a signal?

the "Three Line Strike Scanner" works only on live charts, not in the strategy tester. Sorry, but this can't be fixed because it's not a problem of the indicator.

As I wrote in the first comment, this indicator can't work in the strategy tester, because MT4 has limitations. In the strategy tester of MT4  you can't run a Multi-Pair/Multi-Timeframe indicator.

To your questions:

- Yes this indicator needs only to be attached to 1 currency pair and you can select any timeframe. With the parameters you can define which instruments and timeframes should be checked.
- And yes, all other instruments/currencies will produce alarms.
- If the parameters "alertsLong" and "alertsShort" are both set to "true", then you will get alarms for all configured instruments and timeframes in both directions (long signals and short signals)

But there are further possibilities with this indicator. E.g. you can trade with a bias of the direction of the trend. E.g. if your visual analysis of the charts shows that all Yen-Pairs are in a downward trend on the timeframe H4 then you can:

1. attach the "Three Line Strike Scanner"-indicator to one chart and only configure the instruments USDJPY, EURJPY, GBPJPY, NZDJPY, AUDJPY, CADJPY
2. set "alertsShort" = true and "alertsLong" = false
3. set "alertsH4" = true, "alertsH1" = true, "alertsM30" = true, "alertsM15" = true and all other timeframes = false

Then you will be alerted only for the Yen-Pairs and only for short-signals and only for signals of the relevant timeframes (relevant to the trend on H4). Do you see the possibilities with this indicator? It can help you in your trend based trading very good.

What if I only want to run it on 1 timeframe, and 1 pair?

this indicator makes checks every second and not with every new tick. Therefore, this doesn't work in the strategy tester. 

And the indicator doesn't paint signals on the chart. It alerts you via MT4-alert and Email when signals occur.

Hello Mike, 

I just rented your indicator, and i am about to explore it, but there are several question to ask.

1. Is this indicator just scan the last candle that make Three Line Strike pattern ? How about a pattern that happened two-three candles before the last candle ?

2. Is there a visual indicator to show that pattern is happened in my chart ? Like an arrow or rectangle or something else.

3. Your indicator read last close candle or running candle that make Three Line Strike pattern ?

thank you for testing my indicator and sorry for my late reply. I have overlooked your comment.

To your questions:

1. This indicator alerts only the latest Three Line Strike pattern and only in the moment when it occurs. So there will be no alerts for old patterns.

2. I can upload a FREE indicator within the next days. I will inform you after it is available in the market for downloading.

3. This indicator scans only the last closed candle and checks if this candle produced a Three Line Strike pattern

TIP:

Do the visual filtering as I suggested in the screenshots. There must be enough room for a subsequent big move in direction of the trend. This visual filtering is better than any mechanical attempt to define programmatic filter.

Hi

using it with email annotation I got the following:

In the header of the mail it says "3 Line Strik3 SHORT on AUDUSD timeframe 60".

In the email body it says "3 Line Strik3 LONG on AUDUSD timeframe 60".

What is correct? Pls fix it

thank you for this feedback and sorry for the inconvenience!

I have submitted a new version. The problem is fixed in this new version and I have added "Push-Notification" to the new version.

It can take up to 10 business days until the new version is available. I can't force that. It's the time that the support team of MQL5 needs to review the changes.

Push-Notifications are usually faster. You can use push.

Just bought the product.

I realize there is no push notification.  So that means I may have to stay around the terminal to watch out the alert. Rather inconvenient.

Email may be slower because it depends on the smtp mail server we are using.

Any way to add push notification ?

I just purchased the three line strike scanner but i'm not sure how to install that on my machine. I'm fairly new to using MT4 platform.
