Aethon Risk Manager Pro

AETHON Risk Manager Pro — Trade Panel, Lot Size Calculator and Automatic Risk Manager

Plan on the chart. Size by risk, not by guesswork. Let it protect the trade for you.

AETHON Risk Manager Pro is a manual trading desk for MetaTrader 5. It has no entry logic and no opinion about the market — you decide what to trade. What it does is everything around that decision: it sizes the position from the risk you allow, places the order, and then manages the trade without you watching it.

Instead of typing lot sizes into the standard order window and recalculating every time you move a stop, you drag three lines on the chart. The panel shows the lot size, the exact money at risk, the reward-to-risk ratio and what the order will be sent as, all updating as you drag. When it looks right, you press one button.

Unlike the rest of the AETHON family, this one is not built for gold alone. It asks your broker what one lot would lose over your stop distance, so the same arithmetic is correct on forex, metals, indices, crypto and CFDs without being told anything about the instrument.

THE SEVEN MODULES

Blueprint — entry, stop and target as draggable chart lines, with the stake and payoff zones drawn to scale so the ratio is something you see rather than something you calculate
Caliper   — position size from your risk, stated in percent and cash at the same time, the two always in step
Anchor    — moves the stop to no-loss once a trade is far enough ahead
Drift     — trailing stop with a minimum step, so it tightens without spamming your broker
Harvest   — two staged scale-outs, each a share of the original volume
Bulwark   — a daily loss and gain circuit breaker with a progress meter
Sweep     — one-click closing by side or by result

Every module can be armed or disarmed from the panel while the chart is open.

HOW A TRADE WORKS

1. Plan it. Drag the entry, stop and target lines where you want them, or type the prices into the panel. The two views stay in step: drag a line and the box updates, type in a box and the line moves.
2. Read the numbers. The panel shows the stop and target distance in pips and in cash, the live reward-to-risk ratio, the lot size, and the exact amount you stand to lose if the stop is hit.
3. Set the target by ratio if you prefer. Type a reward-to-risk multiple and press one button to place the target at exactly that multiple of your stop distance, on the correct side.
4. Fire. The order type is worked out from where your entry line sits: near the current price it goes out as a market order, the far side as a limit, beyond as a stop. The panel tells you which before you press anything, and an "@ Market" switch overrides it when a setup triggers and you no longer care about the planned entry.
5. It checks before it sends. A stop must exist and be on the correct side, the stop and target must clear your broker's minimum distance, and there must be enough free margin. If any of that fails the order is not sent and the panel says why.
6. It protects what it opened. Anchor, Drift, Harvest and Bulwark then run on their own, on a timer as well as on ticks, so they keep working on a quiet symbol.

HOW THE LOT SIZE IS CALCULATED

The risk is stated twice, in percent and in your account currency, in two fields side by side. Edit either one and the other follows. Whichever you edited last is the anchor and drives the sizing, so you can pin the risk to a flat 50 of your currency and keep it there as the balance moves, or set 1% and let it scale with the account.

The size itself comes from your broker rather than from a built-in table of pip values:

lot = risk ÷ (what one lot loses over your stop distance)

rounded DOWN to your broker's volume step. Rounding down is deliberate — the amount shown in the panel is what you will actually lose, and it is always at or below what you asked for, never above. Your round-turn commission can be folded in, so the figure stays honest on a raw-spread account.

If the stop is so far away that your risk buys less than the broker's minimum lot, the panel says it cannot size the trade and the buttons refuse. You can also override the whole thing and type a fixed lot size.

KEY FEATURES

- Works on any symbol — forex, metals, indices, crypto, CFDs — with no per-instrument setup
- Draggable entry / stop / target lines with risk and reward zones drawn to scale
- Risk stated in percent and cash at once, the two always in step, against balance or equity
- Lot size always rounded down, so stated risk is never understated
- Commission per lot folded into the sizing
- Order type resolved automatically: market, limit or stop, previewed before you fire
- Validation before sending: stop side, broker stop distance, free margin
- Large orders split into chunks automatically
- Anchor: stop to no-loss with a lock-in offset you choose
- Drift: trailing stop with a minimum step, and an option to wait until the trade is properly ahead
- Harvest: two scale-outs, each a share of the ORIGINAL volume, not of what is left
- Harvest survives a restart — the original size is recovered from your deal history, so closing the terminal mid-trade cannot scale you out twice
- Bulwark: daily loss limit and gain target in percent or cash, with a progress meter
- Bulwark's baseline survives a restart, so a losing morning does not hand you a fresh budget in the afternoon
- Sweep: close all, winners only, losers only, buys, sells, cancel pending orders, or force every position to no-loss at once
- Optionally guards trades you did NOT open from the panel, including ones opened from the phone app
- Pip definition selectable — important on 2-digit gold, see Setup
- Panel in any chart corner, your own font and size, collapsible, and it rebuilds itself if you delete the objects off the chart
- No DLLs, no web requests, no file access — runs on the MQL5 VPS

WHY THERE ARE NO BACKTEST RESULTS

Every other EA listing shows you a results table. This one cannot, and I would rather say so plainly than publish a number that means nothing.

Risk Manager Pro has no entry logic. It never decides to open a trade — you do. Run it in the Strategy Tester and there is nobody to press the buttons, so there is nothing to measure. Any equity curve attached to a tool like this would be measuring the hand that clicked, not the tool.

So judge it the way you would judge a calculator: by whether the arithmetic is right and the controls do what they say. The demo lets you check exactly that. Run it in the Strategy Tester in VISUAL mode and the panel appears on the chart with the lines live — you can drag them, watch the lot size and risk figures recalculate, and press the buttons.

What I will not claim: that it makes you money. It does not trade. It makes your own trading consistent in size and protected after entry, which is a different thing and worth having, but it is not an edge.

RECOMMENDED SETUP

- Symbol: any. Attach it to the chart of the symbol you want to trade
- Chart timeframe: any. The panel does not read bars for decisions
- One chart per symbol. MT5 allows one EA per chart, and the panel acts on its own chart's symbol only. To trade three symbols, attach three copies, one to each chart. Do not attach two copies to the same symbol — both would manage the same positions and fight over the stop
- Account type: hedging or netting both work. It does not refuse to start on either
- Pip definition: read this if you trade gold. On Auto, a pip is ten points on 3- and 5-digit symbols and one point on everything else. On a 2-digit gold symbol that makes one pip 0.01, so the default 200-pip stop is a two-dollar move — much tighter than you probably mean. If you use the common convention where a one-dollar move is ten pips, set PipDefinition to Custom and CustomPipSize to 0.1. Every pip figure in the panel depends on this one setting: stop distances, the Anchor trigger, the Drift distance and the Harvest levels
- Risk: the default is 1% of balance. Set it to what your own plan says before your first trade
- Algo Trading must be enabled. With the toolbar button off the panel still draws and still calculates, but every order fails at the terminal
- VPS: only if you want Anchor, Drift, Harvest and Bulwark to keep running while your machine is off. The panel itself is something you sit in front of

QUICK START

1. Attach AETHON Risk Manager Pro to one chart and enable Algo Trading.
2. If you are on gold, set PipDefinition and CustomPipSize as described above. Do this first — it changes the meaning of every other pip number.
3. Set your risk. Type into the percent field or the cash field; the other follows. The field you typed into gets a green border, meaning it is the one driving the lot size.
4. Drag the three lines. Watch the lot size, the money at risk and the reward-to-risk ratio change as you move them.
5. Arm what you want to run after entry — Anchor, Drift, Harvest, Bulwark — and press Buy or Sell.

If a button seems to do nothing, read the status line along the bottom of the panel. Every refusal is reported there, including your broker's own error text. Nothing fails silently.

If you want to discuss settings or the risk, write in the product's Comments tab or send me a message through my MQL5 profile. I answer there, and the discussion stays where other buyers can read it too.

MAIN INPUTS

- MagicNumber / ManageAllTrades — the tag on orders from this panel, and whether the guards also manage positions it did not open (default on, which is what lets a trade opened on your phone get a stop and a trailing stop)
- MaxDeviationPts — maximum deviation on market orders
- CommissionPerLot — your round-turn commission, folded into the sizing
- MaxLotPerOrder — split orders larger than this (0 = your broker's maximum)
- RiskBasis / RiskAnchor — whether percent measures against balance or equity, and which of the two risk fields drives the lot size
- RiskPercent / RiskMoneyAmount — the two linked risk fields
- FixedLotSize — any value above zero bypasses risk sizing entirely
- PipDefinition / CustomPipSize — what a pip means on this symbol (see Setup)
- DefaultStopPips / DefaultRR — the plan the lines are reset to
- AnchorOn / AnchorAtPips / AnchorLockPips — stop to no-loss: arm it, the profit that triggers it, and the pips locked in beyond entry
- DriftOn / DriftByPips / DriftStepPips / DriftOnlyInProfit — trailing stop: distance kept behind price, minimum improvement before the order is modified, and whether to wait until the trade is ahead by more than that distance
- Harvest1On / Harvest1AtPips / Harvest1TakePct — first scale-out: arm it, trigger, and share of the original volume
- Harvest2On / Harvest2AtPips / Harvest2TakePct — second scale-out, same terms
- BulwarkOn / BulwarkUnit / BulwarkMaxLoss / BulwarkGain — the daily circuit breaker: arm it, whether the limits are percent of the day's opening balance or cash, the loss limit and the gain target (0 switches either side off)
- BulwarkCancelOrders / BulwarkAlert — also cancel pending orders when it trips, and raise an alert
- PanelCorner / PanelX / PanelY / PanelFont / PanelFontBold / PanelFontSize — where the panel sits and how it is drawn

The arming buttons on the panel are for the session you are sitting in. They start from these inputs every time the EA loads, so anything you rely on daily belongs here rather than in a click.

RISK — PLEASE READ

This is a tool, not a strategy, so the usual warning about an edge does not apply. The things that can actually hurt you are these:

- It does not choose trades. Every entry is your decision, and consistent position sizing will not rescue a losing method. It will make the losses arrive in even pieces instead of random ones, which is useful, and that is all.
- Bulwark is not a broker-side stop. It only works while the terminal is running and the EA is attached. A gap or a disconnection can carry you past the limit before it gets a chance to act. Treat it as discipline, not as a guarantee.
- Bulwark measures and closes at different scopes, and you should understand the difference. It watches your ACCOUNT equity against the day's opening ACCOUNT balance, but when it trips it closes only the positions on its own chart's symbol. If you are trading other symbols by hand or with another EA, their losses can trip it while their positions stay open. Attach a copy to each symbol you want it to be able to flatten.
- The pip setting changes the meaning of everything. Get it wrong on gold and your stop, your Anchor trigger, your Drift distance and your Harvest levels are all out by a factor of ten in the same direction. Check it before your first trade, not after.
- ManageAllTrades defaults to on. The guards will therefore act on positions this panel did not open, which is usually exactly what you want. If you run another EA on the same symbol, turn it off, or the two will modify each other's stops.
- Stops are real stops. They are placed with your broker and visible to them. There is no hidden or stealth mode in this build.
- The arming buttons do not persist. A recompile, a timeframe change or a restart resets them to the inputs. If you expect Bulwark to be guarding you tomorrow, set BulwarkOn, do not just click it.

- Trade only with money you can afford to lose
- Try it on a demo account first, and watch one full trade from entry to exit before you rely on the automation
- Do not run another EA on the same symbol on the same account

WHY RISK MANAGER PRO

Most of the work in a trade is not the decision. It is the arithmetic before it and the discipline after it — sizing the position correctly for the stop you actually want, moving to no-loss when you said you would, taking something off at the level you planned, and stopping for the day when the day has gone badly enough.

That is the part a tool can do properly, every time, without being tired or hopeful. Risk Manager Pro does that part and leaves the decision to you.
