Revertix MT5 is a return-to-average Advisor for EURUSD, GBPUSD and EURGBP
Revertix MT5 is an automatic Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 that trades the price return after excessive deviation. When the market moves too far from its equilibrium level, the ADVISER opens a deal against this movement and closes it when the price returns.
Ready-made parameter sets are built into the Expert Advisor for EURUSD, GBPUSD and EURGBP. It's enough to select a pair in one setting — you don't need to select anything else.
THE PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
Currency pairs fluctuate around their average value most of the time, and sharp deviations from it fade over time. Revertix looks for such deviations and enters the market only when the potential move back is noticeably higher than the transaction costs.
- Decisions are made only on closed candlesticks — the signals are not redrawn.
- The Expert Advisor uses the required timeframe itself, so it can be placed on the chart of any timeframe. There is no volume multiplication, the number of orders is strictly limited.
- The series is closed entirely when the price returns and the series is in profit.
PARAMETER SETS
The results of the MetaTrader 5 strategy tester for 2014-2026 (real ticks, 10,000 USD deposit, 0.01 lots, 7 USD commission per lot taken into account):
- EURUSD: profit factor 1.48, maximum drawdown of 2.2%, 11 profitable years out of 13.
- GBPUSD: profit factor 1.74, maximum drawdown of 2.9%, 12 profitable years out of 13.
- EURGBP: profit factor 2.41, maximum drawdown on funds 4.6%, 12 profitable years out of 13.
INPUT PARAMETERS
The main settings are the ones that really make sense to change.
- Parameter set — a set of parameters. EURUSD, GBPUSD or EURGBP is a built—in proven set for this pair. Current pair — parameters from the Strategy group, by default they match the EURUSD set; the mode is designed for self-optimization for other symbols.
- Start volume — the volume of the first order in the series. Profit and drawdown grow in proportion to it. Testing was carried out with 0.01 lots for 10,000 USD.
- Target drawdown, % — automatic volume. The Expert Advisor calculates the starting amount from the balance itself so that the expected drawdown does not exceed the specified percentage (with a margin for drawdown from the tests), and recalculates it before each new series. 0 — fixed Start volume. It works with embedded sets.
- Commission per 1 lot round trip — commission per lot. By default -1: the ADVISOR determines it by itself based on the account history and takes it into account when making decisions.
- Equity stop — closing of all positions with a loss of a specified percentage of the balance. By default, 20%. After activation, new inputs are suspended for a set number of hours.
- Daily loss limit — daily percentage loss limit. The default is 5%. When the limit is reached, new entries are not opened until the end of the day; when the closure is enabled, positions are closed.
- Min margin level — a new order will not be opened if the margin level after it is lower than the set one. By default, 500%.
- Monday ... Sunday — schedule of new entries by day of the week.
- Friday — stop adding orders on Friday from a given hour and, if desired, close positions before the weekend.
- Use news filter — pause new entries 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after important news on the instrument's currencies (built-in MetaTrader 5 economic calendar, only in real trading).
- Magic number — the identifier of the Adviser's transactions. Change it if another Expert Advisor with the same number is working on the same symbol. The adviser does not touch transactions with someone else's number.
- Strategy group — parameters of the trading system for the Current pair mode. When selecting the built-in set, these values are not used.
INFORMATION PANEL
The chart displays a compact panel: the version, the selected set of parameters, the current volume, the trading status and the reason for the pause, positions by direction, floating result and drawdown, commission, spread, result for the day, trend direction and upcoming news. The panel can be dragged with the mouse to a convenient location, the position is remembered.

- Instruments: EURUSD, GBPUSD and EURGBP, each on its own chart. The broker's symbol name may have a different suffix, but it doesn't matter.
- Timeframe of the chart: any.
- Account type: Hedging only. Spread and commission accounts are suitable.
- Deposit: from 3,000 USD for every 0.01 lots of the starting volume for EURUSD and GBPUSD, from 5,000 USD for EURGBP. Instead of manually selecting the volume, you can set a Target drawdown. A cent account is suitable for small accounts.
- Multiple pairs at the same time: the deposit for each pair is summed up, and the Target drawdown on each chart is better divided by the number of pairs.
- Leverage: from 1:100.
- Work 24/5: VPS is recommended for stable operation.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this a grid advisor?
Yes, but with strict restrictions: no more than 2 orders for EURUSD and 6 for GBPUSD and EURGBP, without volume multiplication, with forced closing of the series, emergency stop loss on the server and general protection of funds.
Why are there few transactions on GBPUSD?
The GBPUSD kit is included only for severe deviations — an average of about 4 episodes per month. This is normal for this setting.
Are there any unprofitable trades?
Yes. Some series are forcibly closed at a loss, and unprofitable years are also possible (in tests, one or two years out of thirteen, depending on the pair). The result is formed by numerous series that are closed after the price is refunded.
How does Target drawdown work?
The Expert Advisor takes the drawdown of the 2014-2026 test set, adds a margin of one and a half times and selects the starting volume so that such a drawdown makes up the specified percentage of the balance. This is an estimate, not a guarantee: the future drawdown may be greater. If the deposit is small for the specified purpose, the minimum amount is used, and the panel informs you about it.
Does the ADVISOR close positions for the weekend?
By default, no: on Friday from 18:00 server time, the EA stops adding orders, and open positions can remain until Monday. Closing before the weekend is enabled by a separate setting.
Can it be used on other instruments?
Embedded sets have been developed and tested only for EURUSD, GBPUSD and EURGBP. There is a Current pair mode for other symbols, but the results have not been tested on them — you will need your own optimization.
Why do I need a hedged account?
Orders of the same series should remain separate positions. The Expert Advisor does not start on the netting account.
