Here are the steps to run an Expert Advisor (EA) on MetaTrader:

1. Install MetaTrader

2. Transfer the EA file to the "Experts" folder

• Download the EA file (usually with the .ex4 or .mq4 extension).
• Open MetaTrader and click on the File menu.
• Select Open Data Folder .
• In the opened window, go to the MQL4 (for MT4) or MQL5 (for MT5) folder.
• Go to the Experts folder.
• Place the EA file in this folder.

3. Restart MetaTrader

• After placing the EA file in the Experts folder, close and reopen MetaTrader to make the EA appear in the list of available EAs.

4. Enable AutoTrading

• In MetaTrader, click the AutoTrading button on the toolbar to enable automatic trading. This must be active for EAs to execute trades.

5. Select the EA and Apply it to a Chart

• In the Navigator panel on the left, go to the Expert Advisors section.
• Your EA will appear here.
• Drag and drop the EA onto the chart of the currency pair or asset you want to trade.

6. Configure EA Settings

• After placing the EA on the chart, the settings window will appear.
• You can configure various parameters such as trade volume, stop loss, take profit, and other settings as needed.
• After making changes, click OK to apply them.

7. Check EA Status

• If the EA is properly applied, you should see a green smiley face in the upper right corner of the chart.
• If you see a red icon, the EA hasn’t been activated correctly. In that case, check the settings and conditions for the EA.

8. Monitor EA Performance

• Once activated, the EA will automatically start trading based on the predefined strategy.
• You can monitor the trades and performance through the Terminal tab and the Trade section.

9. Stop the EA

• If you want to stop the EA, simply disable AutoTrading from the toolbar.
• You can also remove the EA from the chart or delete it.
