MT does not apply or save EA settings

Hi,
My MT does not apply or save EA settings correctly.
For instance, if I take a default EA such as MACD Sample > Inputs tab > Change lots from "0.1" to "0.2" > OK > Reopen > Inputs tab still shows "0.1".
I have also tried to change settings, save it as a set > load the set > close > and reopen. It however still does not save and still shows the default settings for the EA when I reopen. So somehow it does not save or apply my settings to the EAs. As if they are "locked".
This is the case with several broker versions and both build 222 and 221, and for any EA where I try to change the default settings. EAs are on and working, live trading is enabled. I get the smily faces :-). But changed settings cannot be applied.
How can I solve this?
