While examining the 1D optimization graphs in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester, I noticed something I cannot explain.
The points representing different optimization results are not aligned vertically for each value of the parameter on the X-axis. Instead, they often form columns that slope to the right as the Y-value increases.
The slope is not constant: it varies considerably from one column to another and seems to depend on the distribution of the results.
I have a few questions:
Is this simply a graphical offset (jitter) intended to prevent overlapping points?
Or does the horizontal displacement encode additional information, perhaps related to the other optimized parameters?
Is there any documentation explaining exactly how the point coordinates are calculated in the 1D optimization graph?
Thanks in advance for any clarification!
