Chart trading in MetaTrader 5 for iOS has been completely redesigned. You now have access to a full-featured trading dialog that combines quick operations, detailed order configuration, and position management.
The trading panel opens directly over the chart and supports multiple modes. In compact mode, it provides quick actions such as switching trade operation types, managing volume, and setting stop levels. The expanded view offers advanced trading parameters and a tick chart for precise price control.
Let's take a closer look at each mode.
Quick Trading
Open the trading dialog using the button on the chart's top toolbar and select the desired operation type. Then specify the trade volume. If needed, enable Stop Loss and Take Profit levels and move them to the required positions directly on the chart.
If you need to set more precise trade settings, expand the trading dialog. Otherwise, simply swipe the button and the operation will be executed instantly.
Existing positions can also be managed directly from the chart in the same way. Select a position and the panel will display the available actions: close the position or modify its Stop Loss and Take Profit levels. To partially close a position, tap the current volume and adjust it accordingly. When you tap the SL or TP button, or modify levels directly on the chart, the 'Close' button changes to 'Modify'. Swipe it to confirm the action.
Advanced Trade Operation Management
To configure detailed trade parameters, expand the panel by dragging it upward. The expanded mode provides advanced order management and risk control options.
For market and pending orders, volume can be specified either in lots or by the amount of margin used. Values can be adjusted using sliders, selectors, or the keyboard. All changes are synchronized with the quick trading panel.
For pending orders, you can additionally set up execution price, Stop Limit level, expiration time, and fill policies.
Stop Loss and Take Profit levels support multiple input modes: price, pips, or deposit currency. For each mode, the application automatically displays the corresponding calculated values.
When working with pip-based levels, you can lock the Take Profit to Stop Loss ratio. After this, changing one level automatically adjusts the other according to the specified ratio, including when levels are moved directly on the chart.
Chart Scaling
For greater convenience, charts now support automatic scaling. When moving orders, Stop Loss, or Take Profit levels toward the edge of the screen, the chart automatically zooms to reveal a wider price range.
Three display modes are available to control this behavior: showing trading levels, free movement, and automatic scaling.
