I'd made the mistake of attempting to test my EA's ability to download history data and have found the speed from the access.metaquotes5.com server to be *extremely* slow.
At first I thought it was because I was running Windows in a VirtualBox emulator, but my server has a 100Mbps connection direct onto internet and other HTTP downloads are fine.
When I say my download from metaquotes server is slow, it seems to be 1-2Kbps (from what I can tell from the connection status in the terminal). Needless to say, I'm now regretting deleting my history instead doing a separate install (as I ended up doing anyway); I now can't backtest alterations to my EA right now because there's no history.
