Hiring freelance programmer, do we get .mq4 or only .ex4.

Hi,

 Let's say I hired a programmer to enhance an existing indicator which is in .mq4. After the enhancement, do we get it as .mq4 or .ex4?

You have to found an agreement with your programmer.

I think it must be in .mq4 so we can check if the code has been enhanced. It will be different if we build new one from scratch.
 

I think if you didn't get the mq4 file then you didn't get anything.

Because you can not update the code or to see how good/optimized.

And even the ex4 maybe has an expiration line.

So MetaQuotes has to update this in the freelancing terms and agreement.

 
the best way in matters like this is to have an agreement with the programmer as moderator has said
