With situations like the FOMC yesterday that cased me great chest pains I would like to know if there is a platform capable of manually backtesting certain trades.
Here is what I propose. A Virtual Metatrader, which allows you to set a start time in the past, and it can move forward exposing the ticks of price action at whatever pace you dictate. Any and all Positions you set and take will be recorded just as if live, and when positions close, the result is shown in the Closed Positions tab. This would not test EA's, but manual trades, and provide results, allowing experimentation of theories and strategies.
There have been days like the FOMC release that I would like to have set a straddle and set stop loss and TP limits, and determine which combination would work on all the past 2 years of FOMC releases. There is currently not a backtest that this can be accomplished with (or is there?)
What can you share? This would benefit all traders, so get the discussion going.
