I've recently been trying my hand at forex trading on a demo Alpari account, and experimenting with a few EAs that I have written. There is one in particular that I have been trying to optimise and backtest, but have run into an issue.
When I open use the optimisation function on the strategy tester, the best result shows a profit. When I put the settings that the optimiser came up with as the best solution into the EA settings, and run the strategy tester again, the result is very different. Is there something I'm missing? Or a bug? All the outputs look OK- the graph of balance and equity looks much as I would think it should, modelling quality shows 90%.
Thanks in advance for your help with what I dare say is a newb question. (Yes, I googled, but to no avail).
