Professional traders and institutions use 1:8 maximum 1:500 is gambling and (in almost all cases) a trading suicide
why is that a suicide? my balance is low so i choose 1:500 leverage and of course using stop loss. What would your suggestion for small amounts? 1:100 ?
The only way to save your account from margin call is to trade with smaller leverage, use a stop loss in every trade you make and have a good trading system.
