UK Unemployment Rate Falls More Than Forecast
The jobless rate for the September-November period was 7.1 percent, just a tad above the Bank of England's threshold for increasing interest rates.
This was the lowest rate ever recorded since December-February period of 2009. In June-August, the jobless rate stood at 7.7 percent. Economists had forecast a decrease to 7.3 percent.
The claimant count or the number of persons seeking jobless benefits in the U.K. declined by 24,000 month-on-month in December to 1.25 million. This was the lowest level since January 2009.

HSBC flash PMI fell to 49.6, said the investment bank is no need to worry too much seasonal effects
HSBC China Manufacturing January purchasing managers' index (PMI) fell to 49.6 in the initial accident six months low, and is also the first time in six months below 50, below market expectations, triggering two to stock market volatility. HSBC considers presetting macro policy fine-tuning space for steady growth, but the investment bank Merrill Lynch believes, PMI initial decline may be related to the Spring Festival approaching, small businesses have begun to leave about, I believe a quarter GDP growth will remain stable.

China HSBC Manufacturing PMI Dips Into Contraction
"The marginal contraction of January's headline HSBC Flash China Manufacturing PMI was mainly dragged by cooling domestic demand conditions. This implies softening growth momentum for manufacturing sectors, which has already weighed on employment growth," said Hongbin Qu, Chief Economist, China and Co- Head of Asian Economic Research at HSBC.

GBP/USD drops below 1.6500 after Carney's speech
The GBP/USD came under strong pressure and slumped during the European session after BoE Carney's speech.
The Bank of England Governor Carney said in a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, that the MPC will update its forward guidance strategy in February after acknowledging that unemployment has fallen faster than anticipated. However, Carney stressed that now is not the time to raise rates. The GBP/USD fell over 100 pips in a matter of minutes and hit a 2-day low sub 1.6500.
