EA using indicator data - Professional Clarification Required.

This is a question that has come up because a guy says his EA runs without the indicator being placed on the graph; but by looking at the EA coding, it references the indicator file? Please clarify!

I don't feel to be professional but I think that no need to attach indicator to the chart (no need to place indicator on graph).
You can call the indicator with iCustom()
