On the website of the Automated Trading Championship 2008, an Interview with Leonid Velichkovski (LeoV) has been published. Leonid Velichkovski (LeoV) is a non-ordinary person. Before starting to trade Leonid was closely connected with music. He participated in popular projects like groups Tehnologia, Comissar, N. Gulkina. He was a producer of projects like Lada-Dance, Strelki, Virus. But music is not the only his interest. From very childhood he liked radio engineering. Leonid got a diploma of an engineer in one of Moscow higher schools. This appeared to be very helpful in trading. Like in music, in trading Leonid involves creativity: he uses possibilities of neural networks, prefers multi-currency trading strategies. As a neural network is a strongest non-linear transform, if training parameters are selected incorrectly, the so called network retraining occurs. It means, when a network learns market rules on history very well, this hinders its profitable operation in future. One of the main parameters is the period of training. If it is too small, the network retraining will happen too quickly, and if the period is too large, the network will not find necessary regularities. That is why one should be very attentive and careful choosing the training period.
