Gold RangeGuard Trader is a professional mean-reversion Expert Advisor designed primarily for XAUUSD (Gold) but fully compatible with major Forex pairs on any timeframe. ► ENTRY LOGIC
The EA monitors RSI on a user-defined timeframe. When RSI reaches an extreme level (oversold for buys, overbought for sells), it places a limit order at a calculated distance below/above the current price. This approach avoids slippage and gets better average entry prices compared to market orders.
► ADAPTIVE RISK MANAGEMENTStop Loss and Take Profit are calculated dynamically using ATR (Average True Range), ensuring that every trade respects current market volatility. The R:R ratio is always 1:1, making results consistent and predictable.
► TREND FILTER (MA)An optional Moving Average filter prevents counter-trend entries. Buy signals are only accepted when price is above the MA, sell signals only when price is below. This significantly reduces false signals during strong trending markets.
► MOMENTUM FILTER (ADX)An optional ADX filter blocks entries when the trend is too strong, keeping the EA focused on range-bound and low-momentum market conditions where mean-reversion strategies perform best.
► AUTOMATIC BREAK-EVENOnce a trade reaches 50% of its Take Profit distance, the Stop Loss is automatically moved to the entry price, locking in a risk-free trade. This protects profits without closing the position prematurely.
► COOLDOWN SYSTEMAfter each signal, the EA applies a cooldown mechanism that prevents multiple entries in the same direction until RSI returns to neutral territory (above/below 50). This avoids over-trading during noisy market conditions.

In versions 1.26 to 1.28, the dashboard used Arial or Arial Bold 8-point text placed inside it, with the logo kept separate at 457×147 px.

In the new version 1.131, currently under development, the interface has been completely redesigned as a unified 508×552 px dashboard, featuring a fully integrated and visually appealing background image. All text is now placed directly within the dashboard, creating a more modern, consistent, and professional experience.

The first backtest on XAUUSD ECN shows a very strong and consistent performance, growing the initial deposit from 2K to approximately 200M. The equity curve is smooth and progressive, with a high win rate of around 80% and a Profit Factor of 1.32. However, the configuration should be considered aggressive, especially because of the high number of trades and the relative drawdown of around 32%. In addition, the historical data quality is only 30%, so the result should be validated again with higher-quality tick data before being considered fully reliable.

The same result obtained with the aggressive configuration can now be achieved by loading the EA PropPortfolio, directly onto the XAUUSD chart, without loading any fileset.
This was made possible because an internal improvement was developed to reduce risk in accordance with the platform’s guidelines.
