I’m excited to announce the launch of Real Tick Data, a project focused on providing high-quality historical tick datasets for traders and developers who require realistic backtesting conditions.
Many trading strategies – especially automated systems and scalping EAs – are highly sensitive to spread behavior, tick frequency, and market microstructure. Unfortunately, a large portion of backtests rely on reconstructed or limited historical data.
Real Tick Data aims to solve this by providing datasets built from true recorded ticks with deeper historical coverage.
Key characteristics of the datasets:
• Tick-level data recorded from professional ECN trading environments
• Raw bid/ask spread behavior preserved
• Millisecond timestamps for precise event sequencing
• Historical coverage extending back to 2015 for multiple symbols
• Designed specifically for EA development and strategy research
These datasets allow developers to evaluate their strategies under conditions that more closely resemble real market behavior, helping reduce the gap between backtest results and live performance.
Available products include:
• Historical Tick Data Archives (completed multi-year datasets)
• Live Tick Data Annual Datasets (ongoing tick collection for the current year)
