Position/Lot Size Calculator
The Position/Lot Size Calculator helps determine a position size based on the amount you are prepared to risk and the distance to the Stop Loss.
Select a currency pair and account currency, enter your account size and Stop Loss distance, then specify risk either as a percentage of the account or as a monetary amount. The calculator shows the corresponding risk amount, number of currency units, and position size in lots.
The result is intended for planning purposes. Actual position sizes and potential losses can be affected by execution prices, slippage, commissions, symbol specifications, and other trading conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
The selected risk percentage is first converted into a monetary amount based on the account size. The calculator then uses this amount together with the Stop Loss distance and pip value to determine the corresponding position size.
When the maximum risk amount remains unchanged, a wider Stop Loss increases the potential loss per unit of the instrument. The position therefore needs to be smaller to maintain the same specified risk.
