Quantum Knight is built on Time-Series Momentum — the strategy family first documented in the peer-reviewed research of Moskowitz, Ooi and Pedersen (2012), and used for decades by institutional CTA and managed-futures funds.

Built on Time-Series Momentum

Quantum Knight analyzes XAUUSD on the M15 (15-minute) timeframe and compares the current closing price to the price 65 bars ago.

• Positive momentum → the EA enters long.

• Momentum persists → the position is held.

• Momentum flips negative → the position is closed, in profit or in loss, exactly as the strategy dictates.

It is a pure trend-following approach, long-only by design, trading a single position at a time.

Precision From Entry to Exit

The defining feature of Quantum Knight is that the exit is the signal itself.

Most Expert Advisors rely on a stop loss to decide when a trade ends. Quantum Knight's primary exit is the momentum reversal: when the 65-bar momentum turns negative, the position is closed — with no hesitation and no emotional interference.

A wide ATR-based stop loss is available as an optional disaster safeguard, but it is off by default. The position follows the trend, not an arbitrary price level.

Selective by Design

Quantum Knight is not designed to chase every bar. It does not measure its strength by the number of trades it opens.

Operating on the M15 timeframe, it waits for momentum to confirm a move — and acts only then. It trades one position at a time, entering only when the trend justifies taking risk, and remaining outside the market when it does not.

Professional trading is not about being constantly active. It is about knowing when momentum justifies taking risk — and when staying out is the better decision.

Risk Management, Engineered In

Position size is determined by a fractional Kelly formula — the same mathematical framework used by professional money managers — never by martingale, grid, or averaging.

Risk is controlled at three independent levels:

• 4-tier risk profile — Ultra Low / Low / Medium / High (best performance) — scaling the fraction of capital at risk.

• Daily loss limit — halts new entries after a 5% daily drawdown.

• Maximum drawdown guard — suspends new entries if the account falls 15% from its peak (configurable).

Every guard is measured against this EA's own equity. Other strategies running on the same account cannot trigger its protection.

The core configuration (65-bar lookback, long-only) produced:

• +723.45% total net profit (+$7,234.50 on a $1,000 deposit)

• 1.27 profit factor

• 2.28 Sharpe ratio

• 28.12% maximum drawdown (equity)
