I’m the founder of HistogramIQ and a technology and engineering leader with more than 20 years of experience in industrial automation, software development, and complex systems integration.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked at the intersection of industrial operations, automation, and software engineering. I’ve led technical teams, designed software solutions, and connected technology with real-world operational challenges. My background spans software architecture, industrial automation, systems integration, digital transformation, and technology-driven process improvement.
In 2018, I developed a strong interest in financial markets and began exploring trading. What started as a personal learning journey into technical analysis, trading methodologies, and market behavior soon became an opportunity to apply my engineering background to a new field.
Drawing on my experience in automation and software development, I began experimenting with algorithmic trading. I built my first trading robots, translated technical analysis concepts into executable rules, and explored how systematic approaches could improve consistency and reduce reliance on discretionary execution.
Over time, this experimentation evolved into a deeper focus on trading systems engineering, including software architecture, automated execution, risk management, backtesting, optimization, and systematic validation.
This journey eventually led me to create HistogramIQ, bringing together years of engineering experience and a growing specialization in trading technology.
My vision is to develop HistogramIQ into a specialized technology company built around three complementary pillars: Engineering Services, Research & Validation, and Products.
At its core, HistogramIQ reflects a simple belief: trading technology should be approached with the same engineering discipline, reliability, and rigorous validation expected of complex industrial and software systems.

HIQImpulse applies Alexander Elder's Impulse System to every candle on the chart, so trend and momentum can be read together at a glance. How it works The Impulse System combines two readings on each candle: Trend: a 13-period exponential moving average of the close. It is rising when it is higher than on the previous candle, and falling when it is lower. Momentum: the MACD histogram (MACD main line minus its signal line, 12/26/9). It is rising when it is higher than on the previous candle, and
