How to get MT5 to eat mql5buy:// links on Linux

I've got MT5 running well on Linux/wine and now I'd like to try out some free EAs. When I click on the link Firefox tries to load a page starting with "mql5buy://" and fails miserably because it isn't a recognised protocol. I assume that on Windows the protocol is associated with the MT5 application
