- Drawdown
The average slippage based on execution statistics on real accounts of various brokers is specified in pips. It depends on the difference between the provider's quotes from "ICMarketsSC-MT5-3" and the subscriber's quotes, as well as on order execution delays. Lower values mean better quality of copying.
Relay is a fully automated XAUUSD (gold) system. Every trade you see here is placed by the algorithm — there is no manual intervention, no news trading by hand, and no discretionary override.
How it trades
Gold behaves differently depending on the regime, so Relay runs three separate engines and lets the market decide which one is appropriate:
- a trend engine that rides sustained moves and lets winners run
- a fast engine that takes small, quick profits when a move lacks conviction
- a quiet-market engine that works the hours the trend engine sits out
Position sizing, stop distance and trailing room all adapt to the measured volatility regime: in storms it sizes down and gives trades more room; in calm conditions it tightens up.
Risk management — please read this part
- ONE position at a time. No grid, no martingale, no averaging down, no recovery multipliers. If you see those words in other signals, understand that this is not that.
- EVERY trade carries a stop loss from the moment it is opened. There are no naked positions at any time.
- A hard risk cap skips any trade that would risk more than a set percentage of the account, rather than shrinking it.
- Daily and weekly loss brakes pause trading automatically after a bad run.
- The system goes flat before the weekend, so there is no weekend gap exposure.
What to expect — honestly
Drawdown is normal and will happen. In backtesting on real tick data across 2025 and 2026, balance drawdowns of roughly 6–17% occurred inside profitable years, and three to four losing trades in a row is ordinary operation. If a double-digit drawdown would make you unsubscribe in a panic, this signal is probably not for you.
Backtest win rate over those two years was in the 58–61% range. Backtest figures are measurements under stated conditions, not a forecast of what this signal will do, and forward performance will differ.
No strategy works forever. Gold's character changes, and any system built for one regime will eventually meet one it was not built for. The protections above cap the rate of damage; they cannot turn a hostile market into a profitable one.
If you copy this signal
Gold is a wide-spread, fast instrument and copying introduces delay, so your results will not match this account exactly. To keep the gap small:
- Use a raw-spread / ECN account. A broker that adds ~20 points of markup on gold will noticeably erode the result.
- Use a VPS near your broker's server. Copy latency matters here more than it does on slower systems.
- Check that your broker's XAUUSD contract size and minimum lot let you scale sensibly to this account's size.
- Set your copy risk deliberately. Copying at a much higher relative risk than this account uses will magnify the drawdowns described above.
