Divergencia SMA JuanTraderFX trades the S&P 500 on 5-minute candles, both long and short.
It looks for the moment a move runs out of steam and enters only after the market confirms the turn.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Exhaustion: price prints a new extreme but the RSI does not confirm it (divergence in the extreme zone).
2. Structure break: a candle closes through the last opposite swing and the fast moving average. It only trades when the slow average is far away, so there is room to run.
3. Pullback entry: a limit order is placed at the broken level. If price does not come back soon, the order is cancelled automatically.
4. 1:3 target: the target is the slow average and the stop is one third of that distance. If neither is reached within 24 hours, the trade is closed.

Note: the broker history used has no S&P 500 data from mid-2020 to mid-2021, which is why the curve is flat there.
