GoldSessions is a chart indicator for MetaTrader 5. For every day it draws one box per trading session: Asian, London and New York. The top edge of a box is the session high, the bottom edge is the session low, and optional labels show both prices. You see where each session ended and how wide it was, so you do not walk into a thin or volatile session hand-over blindly. It is a read-only chart tool: it never opens, modifies or closes a trade, uses no DLLs and makes no web requests, so it cannot touch your account. It is made for XAUUSD (gold) and works on any symbol and any timeframe.
What it does
- One box per session and day. The box runs from the session's first to its last minute. Top edge = high, bottom edge = low. You choose how many days to draw (1 to 30, default 5).
- Labels and tooltips. Optional labels such as London H 4157.72 above the box and L 4079.28 below it. The tooltip of a box shows the server times and the minute of the high and of the low.
- The running session grows with the market. The chart is redrawn every 30 seconds. Weekend days draw nothing.
- Exact highs and lows. They are taken from M1 bars, exact to the minute, whatever timeframe the chart uses.
- Your own hours. Session hours are inputs in UTC, written HH:MM-HH:MM. An end earlier than the start means the session runs past midnight. Defaults: Asian 00:00-09:00, London 07:00-16:00, New York 12:00-21:00. The sessions overlap, as they do in the market.
- Broker time offset. By default it is detected automatically: server time minus UTC, rounded to 15 minutes, re-checked every 5 seconds, and a line is printed in the Experts log whenever it changes. Or enter a fixed number of hours.
- Look. Show or hide each session, outlines or filled boxes, and your own colours.
How to use it
- Attach GoldSessions to a chart (made for XAUUSD, any symbol and any timeframe work). The boxes are drawn on that chart.
- Leave InpBrokerOffset at 99 to detect the broker's UTC offset automatically, or enter the number of hours your server is ahead of UTC.
- Check the London and New York hours against daylight saving time (see the limits below) and adjust the inputs when the clocks change.
- Choose how many days to draw, which sessions to show, outlines or fill, and the colours.
- M1 history must be available. While it loads, the boxes appear on the next pass (within about 5 seconds). In the Strategy Tester the offset cannot be detected, so set InpBrokerOffset there.
Honest limits
- Hours are fixed UTC inputs. London and New York shift by one hour in UTC when the UK or the US change their clocks, so adjust the inputs twice a year. Typical values: London 07:00-16:00 in UK summer and 08:00-17:00 in winter; New York 12:00-21:00 in US summer and 13:00-22:00 in winter.
- One broker offset for all drawn days. If your broker's server clock changed (daylight saving) inside the drawn days, the older days are one hour off.
- The tester cannot detect the offset. Its clock is server time, so set InpBrokerOffset by hand there.
- M1 history is needed. Without it nothing can be drawn.
- Weekends draw nothing. The market is closed, so there is no session to show.
- A drawing aid, not a signal. The boxes show what already happened. The indicator gives no entries, exits or forecasts.
Inputs
| Input | Default | What it does |
| InpDays | 5 | Days to draw (1 to 30) |
| InpAsian | 00:00-09:00 | Asian session hours in UTC, HH:MM-HH:MM |
| InpLondon | 07:00-16:00 | London session hours in UTC |
| InpNewYork | 12:00-21:00 | New York session hours in UTC |
| InpBrokerOffset | 99 | Broker server UTC offset in hours, 99 = detect automatically |

FAQ
Does GoldSessions trade?
No. It only draws on the chart. It never opens, modifies or closes a trade, uses no DLLs and makes no web requests, so it cannot touch your account.
Will it make my trading profitable?
No tool can promise that, and this one gives no signals. It shows each session's high and low, so that you can see where the market has been and avoid trading a thin or volatile hand-over blindly. What you do with it is up to you.
Does it work on symbols other than gold?
Yes, on any symbol and any timeframe. It is made and tested for XAUUSD. The hours are your inputs, so for other markets set the sessions that matter to you.
The boxes are one hour off. Why?
Most likely daylight saving. London and New York move by one hour in UTC when the UK or the US change their clocks, so change InpLondon and InpNewYork. If your broker's own clock changed inside the drawn days, the older days are one hour off, because one offset is used for all of them.
Why do I see no boxes?
Check that M1 history is available for the symbol and that the chart is not showing only a weekend. While M1 history loads, the boxes appear on the next pass within about 5 seconds.
Can I use it in the Strategy Tester?
Yes, but the tester cannot detect the broker offset, because its clock is server time. Set InpBrokerOffset to the right number of hours.
What is InpLog for?
It is a diagnostic switch, off by default. When on, the finished sessions are printed to the Experts log and published as temporary global variables of the terminal. You do not need it for normal use.
