> SMC Vision Pro finds price structures using fixed, documented rules. They are reference points for analysis. They do **not** predict reversals and are not trading signals. Every rule below can be checked by hand on a chart.

## 1. Signal timing and repainting
| Item | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Evaluation point | Every detection runs on **closed bars only**. The forming bar (index `rates_total-1`) is never part of a detection. |
| Can a signal change before the candle closes? | **No.** BOS, CHoCH, FVG, order blocks, pools and sweeps are confirmed when a bar closes. Nothing is drawn mid-bar and nothing is withdrawn after it closes. |
| Swing confirmation delay | A swing at bar `p` is confirmed when bar `p + Swing Right` closes. The marker is drawn on bar `p`, so on a live chart it appears `Swing Right` bars late. This is a delay, not repainting: once drawn, a swing is never removed or moved. |
| Live (non-signal) displays | The panel's "Price zone" line uses the current price. It updates at most once per second and is for display only. A reference candle with **shift 0** is the forming candle of that timeframe, so its levels move live. The default shift is 1. |
| HTF / MTF bias | Computed from **closed** higher-timeframe bars (`CopyRates` from shift 1). It shows the current state only. No per-bar historical HTF state is drawn, so there is no historical look-ahead. |
| Settings that change drawings | Only **"Shrink gap on partial fill"** changes an existing FVG's drawing. The premium/discount zones, HTF levels and reference levels are current-state overlays and move with the latest range. |
| Full recalculation | History reloads, a symbol or timeframe change, or a shift in bar indices triggers a full rebuild from the same start bar. The engine is deterministic, so a rebuild reproduces the same markings, except within the warm-up bars right after the history start boundary
