Timeframes
A timeframe refers to the period each candle or bar represents on the chart. Common timeframes include M1 (1 minute), M5, M15, M30, H1 (1 hour), H4, D1 (daily), W1 (weekly), and MN (monthly). Lower timeframes show more detail and more candles but more noise. Higher timeframes give a bigger picture view with fewer but more significant signals.
Example: A trader looking to scalp small profits might use the M5 chart. A swing trader looking to hold a position for several days might use the H4 or D1 chart to make decisions.

What is Forex
Forex stands for Foreign Exchange. It is the global marketplace where currencies are bought and sold against each other. It is the largest and most liquid financial market in the world, running 24 hours a day, five days a week.
Example: If you travel from India to the US and exchange your rupees for dollars, you are participating in the forex market. Traders do the same thing but with the goal of making a profit from the changes in currency prices.
