Buy vs Sell Volume

This indicator of futures volumes (Buy vs Sell Volume, BSV) shows volume of buy and sell orders and difference between them. You can set signal levels for each type of volume which allows to determine the best moments for trades.

Advantages

  1. The indicator can be displayed as a histogram of linear charts for all trading instruments for which volume of buy and sell orders is transmitted (for example, futures). MetaTrader 5 displays the volume of buy and sell orders in the Details tab of the Market Watch window. But they are not available in the form of indicator. To display volumes as separate indicators, use Buy Volume and Sell Volume.
  2. This indicator plots buy volumes above the zero line, and sell volumes - below the zero line. Thus you can always be aware of volumes ratio (see screenshots). And difference between volumes or delta allows to estimate preponderance of bullish or bearish mood in the market.
  3. You can set signal levels for each type of volume which gives an opportunity to determine the best moments for trades (see screenshot). If volume is below the level, it has one color. If it is above the level, it has another color. You can set colors, other levels of the indicator and vertical scale the set menu of the indicator's setting window.
  4. The indicator has an autonomous (independent of the indicator) on-line storages of minute history of volume of buy and sell orders. Accumulated history is saved in a file.
  5. One trading instrument has one on-line storage for volumes of buy and sell orders, though you can download several Buy vs Sell Volume, Buy Volume and Sell Volume indicators.
  6. Files are saved in a general folder for all terminals, that is why accumulated history will be available in all terminals of MetaTrader 5.
  7. History files are sorted for each trading server and instrument and appended until there is at least one Buy vs Sell Volume or Buy Volume and Sell Volume indicator on a correspondent contract and trading server in any terminal.
  8. Accumulated history is available on any time frame.
  9. There might be gaps on the chart if volume data have not been obtained from the trading server for any reason. Quality of accumulated history is displayed as percentage in the upper left corner after the indicator's name. The higher the percentage, the higher the quality. (see screenshots).

Inputs

  1. Draw type — method of indicator display. A histogram is set by default, but you can choose the indicator displayed as a line.
  2. Level Buy Volume — value of the signal level for buy volumes. If volume is above the level, it has blue color, if below - aqua color. Default value of the level is 0.
  3. Level Sell Volume — value of the signal level for sell volumes. If volume is above the level, it has red color, if below - purple color. Default value of the level is 0.
  4. Level Delta Volume — value of the signal level for difference or delta of volumes. If delta is above the level, it is displayed in green, if below - in yellow. Default value of the level is 0.
  5. Multiplying Factor — multiplying factor used for indicator Exponential Smoothing. Small values provide sensitive indicator; large values provide smoother but delaying indicator. Values 0 and 1 do not lead to smoothing. The parameter's function is similar to the function of the P or the Period parameter for exponential moving average. Default value is 0.
