I'm an American who works overseas and trades as my side job. I have traded full-time before but I realized that this was not good for my psyche. Therefore, I work a very fulfilling and flexible job where I help many people and have a good social life. I also have a beautiful wife, we have been married for almost 20 years and we have four amazing children. I say all this to let you understand the base of my psychology. Most importantly, I have firm faith in Jesus Christ, I am a devout Christian. Trading is 100% a mental exercise in discipline. Robots cannot trade well, because they operate on set rules, when the markets operate on unset rules involving emotion and human psychology. Therefore, I have realized that the only way to trade profitably is to have a disciplined and healthy lifestyle and then to view the markets through human eyes. If your eye is healthy then your whole body is full of light, therefore you can better be able to discern the correct times to enter and exit the market. I first started trading the FX market in 2004. I was first successful at taking a $9,000 usd account to 250,000+ usd within the course of 2 years. After this very successful trading period I was doing well financially but not doing well physically or psychologically or socially. Therefore, I stopped trading to save my family from the stress and began to realize that trading cannot be all consuming. If it consumes your life then you will eventually overtrade, lose, and destroy your finances and relationships. Now it is my goal to stay profitable and stay healthy in all areas.
