Hi Oleksandr,
You recall I was trying to find a way to back test the same trade, but use different Stop loss methods to see which one was more profitable? I believe I have come up with a way to do this. Can you please review this and give to me an estimate for this work? By the way, I have given each of the versions of PT_Tester a version number. The first one is PT_Tester4.1. I am attaching this version so you are sure which version I wish to use for this job.
In order to compare the trailing stop methods among the same trades, one trade will be opened at the same time each day, and only run for that day. If the trade is still running as it approaches the same time the following day, it will automatically close at a designated time before the opening of the next trade. I will input a stop method for that particular trade. Then I will run the strategy tester. Once I have received the results, I will run the same trades again only using a different Stop loss method. This way the outcome for that particular trade can be compared to the outcome of the same exact trade each day using a different SL method.
For example, a trade is programmed to open at exactly 2:00 every trading day. It will run until completion. No other trade will open that day. If it is still open at the end time, it will be automatically closed by the EA. Therefore if it is still running, it will close the exact same time each day. Then a new trade will open at 2:00 again.
In order to do this, I need the PT_Tester4.1 to have at least 2 TP’s. Currently the PT_Tester4.1 has one TP. Using this EA, please add another TP. Also, add a TP True/False for each TP. This way, I can use the trailing stop as the 3rd TP. For example:
TP1 T/F
TP1 _____ pips
TP1 ______ % to close
TP2 T/F
TP2 _____ pips
TP2 _____ % to close
Now for example if both TP1 and TP2 are set to true, and TP1 is 30% to close, and TP2 is set to 30% to close, then the Trailing stop will close the remaining 40%. In this way the TS becomes a third TP.
Next:
Currently one of the inputs is “Continuous Trading T/F”. If set to “false” it will only place one trade. The new input under this will be “Open 1 trade per day T/F”. If set to true, a new trade will open at the same each day. Under “Time Settings”, each day reads “Monday Begin _______ and Monday End______, etc. So if the time is set to 1:00, each trade will begin at 1:00. If it is still running, it will automatically end at the “End” time. This way if each day is set to the same Begin and End time, I can run the same trades to compare different SL methods.
Please tell me if you have any questions. Then can you give me an estimate for this work?
Thank you my friend.
