A career in stock trading

Hello all. I started to do mechanical trading with a lot of enthusiasm, but now I'm really down. I am rather a beginner myself, I have been doing it for half a year now, I have read at least 5 books, and created about 5 different Expert Advisors, two of them are even more complicated, with several indicators, which give excellent results during optimization, but during forward testing the results invariably go down. Of course I have plans to create EAs based on all basic strategies and read all literature on optimization, but is it reasonable? Do you think it makes sense to stay in this business, is it possible to make some serious money? In general, is there anyone who got rich on trading or everything is done for love of the process of programming or everyone believes in the ads in the hope of luck? If, however, it is still possible to make money here, then where, in what direction should I go?

Well, this is if you really ask about a career in stock trading, rather than trying to make a Russian DCs for Russian forex dough. >> IMHO - it's a thankless and futile job.

Six months is not a time frame, it's just getting started. I have been interested in forex for over 5 years, with various breaks. I see forex for myself at this stage as a hobby, a workout for the brain. I do not see the point of going deep into it, unless of course you are a graduate of a finance institute. In my experience the understanding of processes does not come in one or two years (although maybe I am so stupid). The stage of building systems on the minutes with 50 indicators has passed. Try to look at the daily, look for a system with decision-making at the end of the day. You look at the charts in the evening, place orders and go back to your life, build your life without referring to forex, if you succeed, all hell be damned if you fail.

It's funny about: -we had a meeting with friends.

-How many friends were there?

- About one person.

Personally, I only have two people I know who make money on forex. The other 6 make an extra $200-300 a week on forex. I personally have not withdrawn a cent from the brokerage house yet :(((( When I do, I will definitely write here )))

I mean the creation of a trading Expert Advisor, which would be profitable in principle. I am a typical office worker with a technical education, I want to earn on the Forex market according to advertisements. So I ask, is there anyone who has no specific financial education and relevant training in their specialty, which would earn serious money here? Although, somewhere - somewhere inside sits a worm of doubt, why humanity flies into space, develops nanotechnology, and create and sell all the iron profitable adviser willing, like a recipe for a cookbook can not make people dive into the intricacies of programming and stock exchange business? Will not it be a waste of time, and do not I better create a firm to produce diplomas and term papers (as my friends), where my skills and knowledge, will definitely be paid, but without any hint of super-profits? And maybe there is no iron profitable adviser, maybe it's all a fog and visions, and DC are firms that sell for real money equipment and ammunition, for wishing to try to get rich?

Close. How many people know how to m-m-m-m... say, strum the guitar? One in three, I think. And how many make money from it? )))

So there really are no self-made, ironclad profitable 'guitars'.

And so... appropriate money is made by adequate work - Forex, the stock exchange is no exception.

Pardon the platitudes.

1. forex is either a job or a hobby

2. forex is either a job or a hobby/ hobby.

So I doubt that Forex can serve as a place to earn extra income

quit forex without a second thought, you can live without your yacht, and you have enough for oil and your salary, and if you do not have enough, no one is stopping you from getting a second job

Quitting is the easiest thing to do. The problem is that already a lot (in my opinion of course) passed, spent a lot of time, effort, nerves. And for what? For the conclusion that I know how to program at grade 11 high school, and do not believe the ads in the newspaper? I just still somewhere I hope that there is a chance to earn money on the Forex market, but maybe I do not see something and so on. ? Maybe I should just step aside and look there ? I ask these respected forum users, have they had such questions, have they reached the wall of futility in the process of creating a system, how did they get out of it or did they decide to quit it all ? It's horror when you create the fifth Expert Advisor on the clock, optimize it for a year, rejoice at the profitability of nearly 2, and everything goes to 0.8 or even less on the forward. So I ask, who has been doing that, did everyone give up?
