Import historical data in MT5

Hi guys,

I would like to develop an EA to mainly trade CFD (indices, commodities etc...) and I would obviously like to backtest the whole thing... The problem is that on that kind of CFD historical data provided by the broker is not complete, usually only a few months are available and that's simply not enough.
With such small data available the backtest is not effective and all the powerful features of MT5 and MQL5 are useless without proper data to work on.
I hope that I'm missing something but from what I saw there is no way to import data in MT5. This is simply unacceptable, please tell me that I'm wrong and explain me how to import historical data.
As said before, without data _everything_ is made useless.

Thanks in advance

Marco

I perfectly agree with this, and I also need the possibility to import data.

Please don't dig up old topic unless you have something important to add. If you absolutely need to import data, don't use MT5.

Hello mistiko, please, which brokers do you know that have CFDs at MT5?

How is this related to the topic ? Please don't post on old topic, and more of that with off-topic comment.

Thank you.
