My expert has started behaving crazy in the strategy tester

There is no relation between my code and its behavior now. I had noticed some inputs parameters stop working too.

There is no file to clear in the cache.

Any idea?

  1. Do you really expect an answer? There are no mind readers here and our crystal balls are cracked. Always post all relevant code (using Code button).

We can't see your broken code.

    Fix your broken code.

With the information you've provided — we can only guess. And you haven't provided any useful information for that.

  2. Its behavior now is determined only by its code.
  3. Input parameters are constants — they can't stop working. Your code is no longer using them.
  4. What file? What cache?

If you want people to help you give some information.

How is anybody supposed to guess from what you have posted?

Maybe someone has encountered something similar.

There's no shame in saying you don't know. I'm at a loss myself.

The Expert opens trades, but they don't make any sense.

Also trailing stops stopped working despite my not having touched anything.

Of course there is no shame in not knowing what your problem is.

I will never feel shame just because I am not psychic/clairvoyant.

Consider yourself lucky you never had this problem. Algorithmic FOREX trading is hard enough already without having to deal with **** like this.

I found part of the solution: wrong moving average input that I didn't notice before.

It doesn't explain why trailing stops suddenly stopped working but I'm looking into it.

HaHaHa!

Yes, I would consider myself extremely lucky if I had never had the problem of my code not executing the way I planned.

Do you really think that I have never had these sort of set backs? I seriously doubt that any coder can honestly say that.

We all make mistakes.

I have spent frustrating hours and even days tracking down an error in my code. And yes it is always my error, I have done something stupid and I can't believe HOW stupid when I do actually find my error.
