Bars in test - really?

Looking at the Report tab of the strategy tester there is this data of 'Bars in test'. One would think this is the number of bars actually tested by the tester, only no matter what dates I use in the Settings tab I get the same number of bars (and the same number of 'ticks modelled'). Why doesn't this reflect the actual number of bars tested?

Also in the same issue, How the 'Modelling quality' is calculated? and how to interpret this colored bar below?

Does anyone have an answer?
Thanks

They say in help:

Reports tab
In this tab, generalized results of testing and some key parameters are posted:
Bars in test — number of bars in history; {so not tested! the same problem is with progress bar!}
Ticks modelled — number of ticks modelled while testing; {depends on model}
Modelling quality — quality of ticks modelled in per cents; {unexplained quality calculation}
