About the advisor: “Dark Catcher” uses a Bollinger Bands channel, CCI indicator and several filters to search for a signal. One of the important filters is MDR (maximum daily market volatility).
If the MDR value exceeds the price, then opening a transaction is allowed only in the direction of the price movement. If the MDR value does not exceed the specified values, then it is allowed to open transactions against the price movement. In combination with the MDR filter, the max_candle filter (candle filter) is also used.
All this allows you to very effectively filter out bad signals and identify only the best.

Exit from the trade occurs through the reverse Bollinger channel. This is ideal for night trading. The profit will always be different, since the BB channel depends on the price movement at certain moments.
The search for a signal begins an hour after the opening of a new day and lasts three hours. We do not work during rollovers when the spread is very high, like most overnight speculators. For trading, I chose major pair + NZDUSD, since these currency pairs have a very small spread, and people will have the opportunity to work as an advisor even on standard accounts with a floating spread, where the spread when searching for a signal does not exceed 4 points.
"Dark Catcher" does not use averaging methods, martingale and the like. Trading occurs only with a fixed lot, single transactions, with a hard stop loss for each transaction, which is individual for each currency pair.
Uses the recovery function after a loss, and the break-even level if the price moves in a flat.

Regarding testing and optimization:
The optimization of the advisor was carried out from January 1, 2023. There is absolutely no point in optimizing and setting up the advisor for earlier periods of 2022 - 2021 - 2020, since the market is changing very quickly. Any robot must be tuned within the last short period, which is a year or a year and a half.
Each advisor must be reconfigured throughout the year to adapt to the changing market and remain profitable. A competent developer and a person with work experience always knows about this. I update the “Dark Catcher” set files once a year.
You need to test the advisor from January 2023!
| You need to test the advisor only on high-quality quotes (quality 99%-100%)! In the MT4 terminal, the standard quotes are of 90% quality, and a story of this quality will not work! I spent a lot of time, developed a system and selected the ideal settings with the maximum winning rate.
The profit for each currency pair over a period of just over a year is not that great. But if we add all currency pairs together and calculate the total profit, then in 1 year and 4 months we will get a profit of +2800%.
Test: (lot 0.1 / deposit $1000) pay attention to the value of “profitability, drawdown and percentage of won trades”.

If your broker, for example, uses GMT+2 shift in winter, and GMT+3 in summer, then in the advisor settings you should set:
GMT= 2 (winter time shift)
DST = true (this is automatic daylight saving time)
This means that the advisor will use GMT +2 in winter, and in summer it will automatically add one hour and use GMT shift +3.
This setup is suitable for most brokers, such as: IC MARKETS, FP MARKETS, ALPARI and others.

and it has the same GMT all year round, for example +0, then the settings will be as follows:
GMT = 0
DST = false (we don’t need automatic daylight saving time, because we have the same GMT all year round)
