Renko Backtesting

Hi,

I read this post by Moderator32455

about renko backtesting.

He said "The tester can only read the regular timeframes. Open the «DataFolder»\..\history and save the M1 and copy the Renko (probably M2) to M1. You don't want it updated, so make it read-only or use airplane mode."

A beautifully neat solution but is this still valid becuase I tried this (May 2025 so few build/updates later) and could not get it to work but WH is one of the cleverest out there so I want to figure out what, if anything, I might have done incorrectly if anyone can help.

thank you

If you have a Renko generating EA that can source M1 chart data, then make sure the EA is set to read M1 OHLC data instead of tick data (in history), and run the Tester on the M1 timeframe. I've never had a problem with this.

Just know that every Renko generating EA is different, so there may be other settings that you have to change.

Thank you, I will follow this up. Much appreciated.
