1) Select Symbol: "EURUSD"
2) Select Period: "H1"
3) Select Model: "Every Tick"
4) For Spread: Set "15" (points) for standard MT4 tester, or set "Variable" if you're using Birt's Tick Data Suite

Grid Hero - The secret within...
If you have been using Grid Hero, you should have noticed that your today's balance is always more than yesterday's (if not the same).
Basically your account balance will never be lesser, it will always be increasing...that is how Grid Hero works.
Just like what you see in the latest Version 8 video:

THE KEY LIES WITH THE USE OF MARGIN...
Be it a human or a robot, nobody can be always right when predicting the market's direction.
So when your trades go south, a normal trader or a normal EA will usually take the losses with a Stop Loss, realizing your negative positions into real losses.
Grid Hero do this differently by making use of the available margin with an averaging technique to recover negative positions into profits.
So instead of taking losses by means of SL which is what a normal EA would do, Grid Hero taps into your margin to average out all your positions in the form of a basket.
And then it always closes the whole basket with profit using its core averaging algorithm.
A closed basket usually contains a mix of loss and profit trades, but the main point is that the net PnL of the basket is always positive - this is how Grid Hero's averaging technique works.
And when a basket is closed, ALL trades will be closed, so as to minimize the duration of floating trades as much as possible.
This is how Grid Hero 'recover' your negative trades into a positive net outcome, without taking any net losses.
That is why your account net balance always increases...

Market Ebb & Flow ALWAYS...Like it or not...
Whenever you open up a chart, the "Ebb & Flow" nature of the market is always present right before your eyes.
This is especially true for EURUSD due its underlying fundamental nature of this pair, be it a ranging or a trending market.
Market never flows in a straight line as you can see from the chart, it either ranges, consolidates, retraces, or reverses constantly - a natural daily phenomenon.

Grid Hero Step-by-Step Back Test Instructions:
1) Select Symbol: "EURUSD"
2) Select Period: "H1"
3) Select Model: "Every Tick"
4) For Spread: Set "15" (points) for standard MT4 tester, or set "Variable" if you're using Birt's Tick Data Suite
5) Under Expert Properties >> Testing tab, set "Initial Deposit" to $3000 USD (minimum recommended amount)
6) Use default EA settings for Conservative Risk performance (Auto Lot Sizing disabled)
7) Or enable Auto Lot Sizing by applying the V8.0 Auto Lot Set files according to your risk appetite (Auto Lot Risk Levels: Standard/Medium/High). You can download the Set files from the "Comments" section or FAQ.
8) Start your Back Test as far back as from 2004 if you wish

Grid Hero - Push Notification Alert To Your Smart Devices
In case you didn't notice this little tool in the EA which has been there for a while, if enabled the EA will send notification alert to your iOS or Android smart devices (eg: iPhone, iPad, etc...).
The notification alert will be sent whenever a first order entry or a grid entry has been placed. It will also let you know what signal triggers the first order entry, for example: a Bullish Pin Bar signal or a Marubozu signal, etc.
This feature is disabled by default because not everybody needs it, a good to have but entirely up to individual's need.
I don't use it by the way because I am very much the "set & forget" type of trader, and I don't like to be notified of what the EA is doing constantly.
If you would like to enable this feature, please follow the simple steps below:
1) Follow the instructions in the link to setup the link between your MT4 terminal and your smart device: https://www.metatrader4.com/en/trading-platform/help/setup/settings_notifications
2) In the EA, set the "Enable Push Notification" option to true.
