Grid Hero Quick User Guide - Recommendations, Live Trading, Back Testing, & Risk Settings
Recommendations:
- EA Settings: Use Default Settings or Auto Lot Set files.
- Symbol: EURUSD.
- Time Frame: H1.
- Brokers: ECN brokers, low spread/commission, 1:400 leverage, non-FIFO.
- Minimum Deposit: $3000 USD.
Live Trading Instructions:
1) Simply drag and drop Grid Hero EA onto the EURUSD H1 chart
2) In the EA menu, input your broker's GMT Offset value for Winter (check with your broker if you're unsure)*
3) Leave all other EA settings as default. Or Enable Auto Lot Sizing by applying the attached Standard/Medium/High Risk Set file
*Note: The default value of the GMT Offset for Winter is set to 2 in the EA, which matches most brokers
Back Testing Instructions:
1) Select Symbol: "EURUSD"
2) Select Period: "H1"
3) Select Model: "Every Tick"
4) For Spread: Set "15" (points) for standard MT4 tester, or set "Variable" if you're using Birt's Tick Data Suite
5) Under Expert Properties >> Testing tab, set "Initial Deposit" to $3000 USD (minimum recommended amount)
6) Use default EA settings for Conservative Risk performance (Auto Lot Sizing disabled)
7) Or enable Auto Lot Sizing by applying the attached Auto Lot Set files according to your risk appetite (Auto Lot Risk Levels: Standard/Medium/High)
8) Start your Back Test as far back as from 2004 if you wish

CLOSE OF YEAR TRADING PAUSE >>> Let's take a 2 weeks break from trading...
Hello Grid Hero traders,
As communicated previously, due to the close of year I have paused my trading starting from today 22 Dec and resuming on the 2nd week of Jan 2018.
As such, all my Grid Hero signals will temporarily paused trading starting today 22 Dec until the 2nd week of Jan 2018.
Which means there will be no trading activity on all my Grid Hero signals from 22 Dec to the 2nd week of Jan 2018.
And as you can see on all my Grid Hero signals, all positions are already closed by the EA and there are no opened positions.
The exact date of resuming my trading is tentatively set for 8 Jan 2018, but I will assess the market and confirm again at a later date.
Again, I would recommend you to do the same as well, but of course this is entirely up to individual's preference or practice.
In the mean time, let's take a 2 weeks break from trading and we shall continue harvesting profits with Grid Hero shortly in the new year.
I am not going on any vacation, hence I will still be hanging around here in this forum during this inactive period :)
If you have any questions for me, don't hesitate to drop me a PM. I am usually online most of the time.
For those who have made some good money out of Grid Hero this year, don't forget to reward yourself and share the joy with your family.
Last but not least, have a well deserved break!
Below are the instructions again on how to pause and resume trading.
Instructions to pause EA trading:
1. First ensure that there are no active position(s) opened by the EA
2. Disable "AutoTrading" on your MT4 to stop trading
Instructions to resume EA trading:
1. Re-enable "AutoTrading" on your MT4 to resume trading
2. Ensure that the EA is properly loaded onto the chart and the smiley face is present on the top right hand corner of your chart

Auto Lot Sizing on Fixed Funds:
You should pay attention to this feature, it can tune up all your lot sizes from the start but prevent the lot sizes from growing, giving you more profits while reducing draw downs and risks.
This feature will be useful for traders who are using Grid Hero on a large account and wish to use only a fixed portion of the account balance for auto lot sizing.
Basically this feature lets you allocate a fixed portion of funds from your balance to be used for auto lot sizing, so that your auto lot sizes will be computed using only this fix amount of funds.
And because this funds amount is fixed, your auto lot sizes will first be tuned up according to this fixed funds, but they will not increase as your balance grows.
Running this on a real tick back test from Jan 2004 to Dec 2017 (on variable spread + $7 comm) shows us that using this feature not only can increase your profits but it also reduces your overall DD and risk.
And it gives traders a safer way of using the auto lot feature on a large account when you only want to use a portion of the account funds.
Below is the back test result based on the scenario of a $20K account, and allocating only $10K for auto lot.

CLOSE OF YEAR TRADING PAUSE >>> Let's take a 2 weeks break from trading...
Hello Grid Hero traders,
As communicated previously, due to the close of year I have paused my trading starting from today 22 Dec and resuming on the 2nd week of Jan 2018.
As such, all my Grid Hero signals will temporarily paused trading starting today 22 Dec until the 2nd week of Jan 2018.
Which means there will be no trading activity on all my Grid Hero signals from 22 Dec to the 2nd week of Jan 2018.
And as you can see on all my Grid Hero signals, all positions are already closed by the EA and there are no opened positions.
The exact date of resuming my trading is tentatively set for 8 Jan 2018, but I will assess the market and confirm again at a later date.
Again, I would recommend you to do the same as well, but of course this is entirely up to individual's preference or practice.
In the mean time, let's take a 2 weeks break from trading and we shall continue harvesting profits with Grid Hero shortly in the new year.
I am not going on any vacation, hence I will still be hanging around here in this forum during this inactive period :)
If you have any questions for me, don't hesitate to drop me a PM. I am usually online most of the time.
For those who have made some good money out of Grid Hero this year, don't forget to reward yourself and share the joy with your family.
