Here's the thing: there's a cheat finder in tick data settings. How does it work? If the EA has hard-coded data, then the backtest doesn't work. I will explain further. You can shift the testing data to the past; you do the same analogously in the strategy tester. For example, if you want to test the last two years, you shift the data to the past by 28 years. Suppose the EA cannot perform the backtest or provides different results. In that case, something is wrong...that means that the author, to make the EA look "invisible," hard-coded dates that the EA uses in the backtest to avoid short or long positions in specific periods...Conclusion: if it is too good to be actual, it probably doesn't...I will change my 1-star review if the author proves I am wrong.
Update: After an earnest discussion with the author (who I have to admit is a very kind guy), I am changing my review to 5 stars because of two reasons: a) since my company (algojamhp pcc) has in its roster an MIT graduate and he commented positively to the author's explanation then I have no choice to admit it and b) the author approached me with a very kind and explained manner, so I understood he is a real professional. I wish him luck with his products.
