Harmonic Pattern Indicator Explained
Trading Indicator is an effort of developer to create trading tools comply with particular theory or trading strategy or trading ideas. There is always gap between theory (i.e. ideas or strategy) and practice.

Not all the harmonic pattern indicators are the same. In the past the main variations of Harmonic pattern indicators can be categorized as following four types.

Type 1: Non lagging (fast signal) but repainting – option to enter from turning point. Indicator does not show the failed pattern in chart and last pattern can repaint.

Type 2: Lagging (slow signal) but non repainting – no option to enter at turning point (i.e. early signal). Indicator does not show the failed pattern but last pattern does not repaint.

Type 3: Detecting pattern at point C but repainting – option to enter at turning point. Indicator detect pattern too early and you have to wait quite bit of time until price move near the point D. In fact, price may not move near point D. You might just waste your time waiting for the pattern. Indicator does not show the failed pattern and last pattern can repaint.

Type 4: Non lagging (fast signal) and non repainting – option to enter from turning point. At the same time, the pattern is not repainting. This is hybrid of all above three system and can be considered as the most powerful harmonic pattern indicator.

Powerful Use of Potential Continuation Zone with Harmonic Patterns

Potential Continuation Zone was introduced first in the book: Guide to Precision Harmonic Pattern Trading: Mastering Turning Point Strategy for Financial Trading by Young Ho Seo. Here we will show you how to improve your Harmonic trading marginally using this powerful PCZ concept.

As it was shown in the book, good harmonic patterns for your trading have a well balanced Potential Continuation Zone and Potential Reversal Zone. Typically harmonic patterns with good spread of PCZ levels will help your trading immensely. In this technique, you will be looking at those harmonic patterns in higher timeframe first. Then lock the pattern in your chart. Now change your timeframe to lower like M30 or H1 or H4, etc.

You will wait for the formation of Harmonic pattern near the PCZ level of higher timeframe. Once you have found the harmonic pattern near PCZ level, then there is potential entry for you. Hence, not all the harmonic pattern detection indicators are the same. The main variations of Harmonic pattern indicators can be categorized as following four types. Users should understand the pros and cons of each variation to maximize their trading performance with harmonic patterns.

Type 1: Non lagging (fast signal) but repainting

option to enter from turning point. Indicator does not show the failed pattern in chart and last pattern can repaint. This is almost considered as standard Harmonic Pattern Indicator. Even if they are repainting, harmonic pattern trader just accept it as it is. 99% of time, this is the harmonic pattern product you will get from the market whether they are free or paid one. You can trade live with this indicators but historical patterns can not be used to fine tune your strategy.

Type 2: Lagging (slow signal) but non repainting

no option to enter at turning point (i.e. early signal). This type of indicator turns harmonic pattern indicator as slow as moving average cross over. It might be not overly attractive option for your trading. Indicator does not show the failed pattern. Hence, you can not use historical patterns to tune your strategy but last pattern does not repaint. You can trade live with this indicators but historical patterns can not be used to fine tune your strategy. Probably about 1% of harmonic pattern indicator is this type.

Type 3: Detecting pattern at point C but repainting

Mean Reversion Supply Demand – How to Remove Take Profit and Stop Loss Levels

One of the greatest advantage of Mean Reversion Supply Demand is that it provide a flexible Profit and stop target for your trading. After you have learnt how to use this profit targets, now you want to learn how to remove them. Of course, there is a way to remove them. The trick is simply moving the stop text above the Entry text (for the case of buy). You will do the opposite for the case of sell. Reusing Old Supply Demand Zone

Here is a short article on increasing your profitability with supply and demand zone for Forex and Stock Market Trading. As we provide non repainting supply and demand zone now, naturally we are able monitor the price action for both old and new supply demand zone. What does this mean ? Firstly if you are using Fresh supply demand zone only, then you might skip to read this article. It is entirely your choice.

However, we observe that old supply and demand zone is still important in our trading. Consider the screenshot below. We have picked up one old supply zone. This supply zone was penetrated already and people may not have an interest in reusing this old supply zone. Hence, this supply zone was no longer fresh. However, when there are no new supply zones in our sight, we see that market is respecting this old supply zone. Check out how many times price was reversed at this old supply zone. Price was reversed almost four times in raw. Even this is old supply zone, it still provide us good money making opportunity. Therefore, we can use old supply demand zone with caution.

Here is simple rule in using old supply zone.

Use supply zone ( detected at peak) as supply zone: To use old supply zone, current price must be staying below supply zone.
You can bring one or two old supply zone if there is no new supply zone in your chart. But still choose the latest and well respected supply zone only.
Here is simple rule in using old demand zone.

Use demand zone (detected at trough) as demand zone: To use old demand zone, price must be staying above demand zone.
You can bring one or two old demand zone if there is no new demand zone in your chart. But still choose the latest and well respected demand zone only.
At the end of day, supply demand zone is the extended concept from support and resistance. In support and resistance, we commonly use old one as long as they are respected by market. Likewise, I have just demonstrated the way of using old supply and demand zone in our trading. As I mentioned, if your strategy is purely based on using fresh supply demand zone, you do not have to take this advice.
