Yes, excessive greed and fear emotions can lead to tremendous losses, and the easiest way to be affected by bad emotions is to listen to the crowds.

Why do we listen to the crowds even if we know that it could harm our ability to take the correct decision? It is because crowds have an answer for every question. They talk like us they are human with the same feelings as us. When the market move to the downside they amplify the voice of pessimism in our mind & when the market move to the upside they amplify the voice of optimism in our heads.

But do we really need this amplifier?
No, we don't

The Legendary Nicolas Darvas once said:
"My ears are my enemy".

This is true. a trader who listens and accepts every emotional signal that comes from the crowds will not see opportunities in the market. This habit will crash his mentality to take the correct decision.

The successful trader should not put his ears on the crowd's wall, instead, he should build walls between his ears and the crowds.

The control of emotions is something to be learned, it is something difficult to control. But with time it is achieved. It is very important that traders do not throw themselves to the lions without learning it. For that there are demo accounts, but many start directly in a real account and lose everything, and then they think that here everything is manipulated, and it is always lost. Just additional input, leading indicators only means it will bring odds in our favor but it does not mean that it can accurately predict market movement all the time. If the trader is not using good RR and do not give emphasis in controlling the risk he is still destined to fail in the end.

Hi Forex trader,

I want to give you one of my best trading weapons that I use every single day.
.
It is "Channels"… Especially 'Standard Deviation Channels". I have a unique way to use them:
1) I add standard deviation channels above each other.
2) Both of them got the same length.
3) Both of them got the same color.
4) One of them is one standard deviation.
5) The second is two standard deviations. This creates two bands that surround price candles most of the time.
.
Here is how I use them at buying setup:
■ When price candles get inside the upper bands then it is in an overbought area.
■ When it crosses the upper band to the downside it moves toward the center of the channel. Here is how I use them at the selling setup.
■ When price candles get inside the lower band then it is in an oversold area.
■ When it crosses back the lower band to the upside it moves toward the center of the channel.

Those channels made me a lot of money and helped me to make good trading decisions for a long time.

A lot of people pay money to get those channels as separate indicators while they are found as a part from most of my indicators
