I’m a full-time individual trader. I have programming skills and a bachelor’s degree in economics. I started my trading journey in 2006 and spent over ten years developing my algorithmic approach to researching markets and building various trading models and strategies for stocks, futures, options, and currencies. I pay particular attention to risk control and diversification.
My style is portfolio trading. I use more than ten diverse strategies (breakout, momentum, mean-reversion) combined into a portfolio. The strategies are based on three basic models and diversified using various parameters and financial instruments. Such a style allows creating portfolios with specific expected values of maximum drawdown, diversification level, profit/risk, volatility of the equity curve.
Portfolio trading has advantages over trading with only one strategy. Such trading has a lower drawdown; smaller leverage is used. A portfolio is better adapted for trading in different market regimes and has lower volatility.

I have stopped the 'NY Close Trading Strategy' for a month. It seems that the current market is not suitable for this strategy because of high spreads and large price movements around the rollover time. I will probably wait until the spreads come down.

I just released the MT5 version of Belkaglazer. I think MT5 is the future and it's time to move to MT5. I will no longer open MT4 accounts.
1. Belkaglazer MT5 is fully compatible with set files created for MT4.
2. MT5 version does not currently support netting mode. I am working on a virtual position manager for MT5 so that the netting mode will be available soon.

4. The new version contains a news filter and allows you to add different dangerous MM methods to any strategy. I am against using such methods in trading, so my accounts, signals, and set-files will never use them. But I do not want to limit other traders, at least these settings can be used for educational purposes.

To be safe, I've stopped trading GBP until the end of the week due to Brexit vote (except for demo accounts). This is a very rare event that cannot be tested and will randomly affect the markets. So I've turned off the set-files with GBP pair.

2018 ends. It is a terrible, very terrible year for the breakout and momentum systems. Many familiar traders close this year with a loss for the first time in 5-10 years. It's a perfect market for martingale, grid, averaging, and manual traders who trade reversals. Good market for scalping. Will 2019 be the same or maybe better / worse? - I don't know; I do not see the future. In such a market, the primary goal is to lose as little as possible.
My plans? I love markets; algorithmic trading is food for my brain. I will continue to develop Belka. I will continue to invest my knowledge and experience in this project.
The new version will contain a news filter. We will be able to backtest the impact of any news event and select various news data providers.
New advanced settings and features will be added to the INI file. It will be possible to optimize strategies using the Sharpe ratio, Belka will be able to export different data to CSV, automatically build an equity curve, a drawdown chart and other important metrics that cannot be displayed in MT4.
The MT5 version is under development. My task is to develop a good EA with full support for the netting mode and all types of orders. Such an expert can be used on real stock/futures exchanges. My main task is diversification in different markets.
Today (21.12.2018) I will stop trading until Monday, January 11, 2019. I will close all open orders/positions at 22:00 (GMT+2). The end and first week of the year is a dangerous time to trade. It is my personal decision; it does not mean that you should do the same. I want to spend this time with my family. Anyway, two weeks a year will not be able to change something. The market will not run away from us.
Using this pause, I will review all my portfolios (taking into account the trading results of 2018). I will think a lot and make the necessary changes.
Thanks to everyone who shared ideas with me, sent set-files and helped me improve this project. I hate marketing and stuff like that. I am not interested in selling this product to anyone who does not need it. I focus on traders with experience and knowledge. The results of 2018 tell me that I need to reduce the price to $500. I think this is a good price for joining the project.
