Tainted by bad experience with blown accounts, thats what i think you martingale phobia freaks are! Properly used and there is norhing to be so scared of.

If there's a probability of 1 in 1000 that you'll lose X amount of trades in a row, it will happen every 1000 times on average. Short story short, "making money" with a martingale is not logically possible, you just postpone the loss and make it bigger, in other words you decrease the probability of losing (not trades but dollars) while proportionally increasing the amount of eventual unrecoverable loss.
Martingale doesn't make you lose money, nor does it make you win, but the illusion created by martingale that the strategy is good will make you lose money.
