Last week EURUSD enjoying some upwards momentum after the formation of 5-0 pattern. EURUSD nearly gone up 200 pips with the pattern.

In terms of Volatility analysis, EURUSD stayed in the high volatile region over Harmonic Volatility Line 14.6%. Especially the Point C of 5-0 pattern almost reached the 3.4% of Harmonic Volatility Line and we expect that the same Harmonic Volatility Line is important to monitor. At the same time, the Point D of 5-0 pattern started at 38.2% of Harmonic Volatility Line, we also emphasize that this line should be monitored along with the 3.4% line next week. For your information, EURUSD hit the custom take profit level of 5-0 already.

GBPUSD Market Outlook-26 Nov 2017

Currently GBPUSD made good upwards momentum. As you can tell see from the screenshot, it reaches nearly 9% extremely volatility since the start of rising wedge patterns. Ironically, the peaks of GBPUSD was highly correlated with 9% Harmonic Volatility Line (=Probability Line) in fact. Last Friday, GBPUSD tested 14.8% Harmonic Volatility Line. This coming week we are waiting to see if GBPUSD want to continue its path along the rising wedge patterns.

For your information, When you use Price Breakout Pattern Scanner and Harmonic Volatility Indicator together, apply Harmonic Volatility Indicator at the beginning of the wedge pattern. You can apply it slightly off the peak because we assume that there are some horizontal and vertical margin in our volatility calculation. We will make this more visible in our next version though.

Harmonic Volatility Indicator VS Market Profile

Now I got many questions from traders, if they can have the Market Profile without developing period. What does it mean by developing period? It means that any Market Profile need to collect intra-market data to build up the statistics like Value area and control point, etc (i.e. repainting each statistics during developing period).

For this reason, we have to use Market Profile while they are developing during intraday. As it gets developed, each statistics can be changed. Obviously many traders does not like this feature of the Market Profile. To avoid the developing period, you can probably use yesterday’s Market Profile but they are lagging. So once again we prove that non repainting indicator is lagging here. If you want to deal with the real time information, repainting is not avoidable in return that you will get earlier warning (or earlier entry) too. So it is fair enough that you get earlier entry in return for hard working.

Depending on what is your purpose with Market Profile, there are some potential that harmonic volatility indicator can be used alternatively to Market Profile. For example, if your purpose of using Market Profile is monitoring the extreme volatility, then Harmonic Volatility Indicator can do the same job without the developing period. Check the screenshot for your information.

Another advanced setup might is that you can use Harmonic Volatility indicator together with Market Profile. So you have one with developing period and the other one without developing period. So there is some rooms for improving your market profile with our Harmonic Volatility Indicator.
