Reach Greater Heights
Welcome to the signal "Reach Greater Heights"! With this signal, we shall scale our account balances to greater heights together.
The signal only trades the EURUSD pair.
The FX Gen Expert Advisor is used here. The parameters were optimized using 99.9% tick data and real historical spread, resulting in a winning probability of about 80%. In cases where the price moves against the position, FX Gen will attempt to neutralize the negative position with another trade whenever possible. Nevertheless, it manages every new position on its own, and does not hesitate to close a new position in profit if such neutralization is not possible in the short term. This strategy allows the FX Gen to continue generating profits even when there are open positions in drawdown. In addition, hedging positions are also used when trading opportunities in the reverse direction are detected.
Although some traders may feel uncomfortable about hanging drawdowns, it is important to realize that such drawdowns are not dangerous so long as the positions are well managed and kept small (this signal limits the maximum number of open positions to 10 equally sized positions). The overnight swaps are also small due to the small size of each position (and may even be positive for shorting EURUSD).
The 99.9% backtests for the optimized parameters used in this signal, performed over 15 years of historical data, show that it is able to neutralize all hanging drawdowns, while hitting a maximum drawdown of less than 30% for the chosen (lot size):(account balance) ratio.
For best performance, choose a reputable ECN broker with very low spread for EURUSD, and reasonably low commission. The signal is not FIFO-compliant (i.e., not First-In, First-Out), hence it is not suitable for U.S. regulated brokers as hedging positions (i.e., trades in opposite directions) would be closed.
Note: The signal runs on FX Gen EA from August 2016 onwards. There were other EAs on this account before August 2016, but they have been removed.
Expected growth: Averaging about 5% per month over medium term
Maximum drawdown: Expected to be less than 30%
Recommended balance: At least US$1000
Maximum number of open positions: 10 equal lot-size positions
Lot-size of each position: 0.01 lot per AUD $1k account balance, e.g., 0.1 lot for AUD $10k, 0.11 lot for AUD $11k, and so on
MFE and MAE Distribution Point Graphs
Maximum profit (MFE) and maximum loss (MAE) values are recorded for each open order during its lifetime. These parameters additionally characterize each closed order using the values of the maximum unrealized potential and maximum permitted risk. MFE/Profit and MAE/Profit distribution graphs display each order as a point with received profit/loss value plotted along the X-axis, while maximum displayed values of potential profit (MFE) and potential loss (MAE) are plotted along the Y-axis.
Place your cursor over parameters/graph captions to see the best and worst trading series. Find out more about MAE and MFE distributions in the article Mathematics in Trading: How to Estimate Trade Results.
The average slippage based on execution statistics on real accounts of various brokers is specified in pips. It depends on the difference between the provider's quotes from "ICMarkets-Live05" and the subscriber's quotes, as well as on order execution delays. Lower values mean better quality of copying.
